1. In your opinion are there too much or too little? Support this?

By facts, statistics
and/or examples- next
I think the Government regulations have increased significantly over the last decade.
The consumers have become angry over the increased level of Government regulation,
especially in during President Obamas time. I strongly believe that the economy can
grow best if the people have faith and confidence in the Government policies and
regulations. If consumers feel insecure; they will not spend money and hence the
economy may get affected immensely.
I would like to take help of survey based on telephonic interviews and conducted in
September, 2012 with a random sample of 1017 adults living in all 50 U. S. states and
the District of Columbia.

The participants were asked about their opinion on Government regulation on
business and industry over the period of 2002 to 2012. The survey report suggests that
people believe the level of Government interference in the economy has increased
significantly.

According to another survey made by pewresearch; the trust in Government has
decreased from a record 75% during 1960s to merely 19% in 2013. It suggests that; only
19% of the participants have trust in Government and believe that whatever
Government is doing is correct most of the time.

Hence, we can conclude that there has been an increased level of interference from
the Government in business and industry in recent years.

2. Are there other industries that you think should be regulated more or perhaps even
upgraded (as in a socialist system) Do not use healthcare in this discussion.
I truly believe that; the Government should regulate the education sector more
diligently. It is pretty obvious that many universities are more interested in making
money then providing education. I do not understand why the course fees are so high
for most of the universities. Also it is really difficult to understand why the price of
forms for admission is so high. It becomes very difficult for a guy from middle class
family to apply for more universities.
I also believe that the Government is not able to provide necessary protection to the
whistleblower especially in defense. The status quo is so prominent in the defense
sector; that many a times we lose valuable times and resources before the correct
information reach appropriate location.
Furthermore, various parties have failed to comply with the Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA). Still there are many places; where people with disabilities are not getting
public accommodations and commercial facilities. The Government should take more
initiatives and should make sure that the people in need get all the required benefits.

3. Are there examples of industries where there is too much government regulation?
In my opinion, there has been too much of Government interferences in business
operations of companies in U.S. The Government has forced the companies to reduce
the amount of outsource jobs. I think the Government has no business in deciding how a
company should operate. We should always remember that, a business exists solely for
the purpose of profit and companies should not be forced to do anything which would
discourage the investors. These kinds of regulations send negative vibes to companies;
hence Government needs to restrict itself from putting unnecessary pressure on
companies.
I also believe that the oil and natural gas industry is under too much regulation. Oil and
natural gas industry contributes immensely towards building a world class
infrastructure, which in turn brings a lot of investors. Hence, this industry deserves a lot
of encouragement and given a free run to grow rapidly.
