It reviews previous research on digital musical conducting systems using technologies like radio batons, digital batons, and the Wii controller. However, these systems did not fully represent the gestures and language of traditional musical conducting. The document then interviews six musical conductors about their experiences learning and teaching conducting techniques. It aims to analyze how multimodal interaction using vision and speech could enable a computerized basic musical conducting education program.
