The Arcus Foundation Scholarship was established at Spelman College in 2014 to provide financial
assistance to a student who has shown promise to become a strong leader and advocate for the LGBTQ
community. Interested students meeting the eligibility requirements below are invited to apply. Selection is
competitive, which means that meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee that an applicant will
receive a scholarship.

Guidelines for the selection of the Arcus Foundation Scholar:
Classification: sophomore.
Minimum 2.75 G.P.A.
Complete all requirements of the scholarship application. [Note: Essays will be judged on
concept, grammar and content.]
Candidates must identify with and have shown promise of becoming a strong leader and
advocate for the LGBTQ community at Spelman.
Preference will be given to students with demonstrated need as determined by the Office of
Financial Aid.
This scholarship is renewable, assuming student maintains eligibility requirements.

The completed application and required attachments are due no later than Wednesday, October 15, 2014

What impact do you hope to make on the community through your efforts?
