Should you be elected, what are three specific areas youd like to
change, address, improve or further research, and how specifically
would you go about it?

The Courts case management system needs to be upgraded to the Ohio
Supreme Courts system. This conversion will make the 11
compatible with the other Ohio appellate districts.

E-filing is a goal for the 11
District. Electronic filing of the notice of
appeals, original actions and motions would benefit the public. This would
include making the case docket viewable by the public. I would work with
the Clerks offices in the five counties to accomplish this goal.

Continue to reduce the amount of time it takes for a decision to be released.
This goal can be accomplished by identifying any unnecessary delays and
reducing the frequency that they occur.

Whether for past accomplishments or future goals, why should voters
elect you?

My extensive experience on the court and 12 years as a criminal
prosecutor are my qualifications for this position. Since being elected
to sit on the Court of Appeals in November 2002, I have authored over
1,000 appellate opinions and decided over 3,000 appellate cases. I
was appointed a visiting judge on the Supreme Court of Ohio as well
as on the 2nd, 7th, and 9th District Court of Appeals.

I have served on the Ohio Judicial Conference Executive Committee
from 2011 to the present and am currently the co-chair of the Criminal
Law and Procedure Committee.

As an Assistant United States Attorney in the General Crimes Division, I
prosecuted major federal crimes. As the First Assistant Criminal
Prosecutor in Trumbull County, I was responsible for overseeing all
felony criminal prosecutions and was trial counsel on major criminal
cases, including capital murder, murder, rape and drug cases.
