All Who Hunger

All who hunger, gather gladly; holy manna is our bread. Come from wilderness and wandering. Here, in truth, we will be fed. You that yearn for days of fullness, all around us is our food. Taste and see the grace eternal. Taste and see that God is good.

All who hunger, never strangers; seeker, be a welcome guest. Come from restlessness and roaming Here, in joy, we keep the feast. We that once were lost and scattered in communion's love have stood. Taste and see the grace eternal. Taste and see that God is good.

All who hunger, sing together; Jesus Christ is living bread. Come from loneliness and longing. Here, in peace, we have been led. Blest are those who from this table live their lives in gratitude. Taste and see the grace eternal. Taste and see that God is good.

Lord, listen to your children praying, Lord, send your Spirit in this place; Lord, listen to your children praying, send us love, send us power, send us grace.

Praise you, praise you; let my life praise you. Praise you, praise you; let my life, O Lord, praise you. Praise you, praise you; let my life praise you. Praise you, praise you; let my life, O Lord, praise you. Let my life, O Lord, praise you.

You Satisfy the Hungry Heart
Omer Westendorf, Word, 1977 Robert E. Kreutz, Music, 1977

You satisfy the hungry heart with gift of finest wheat. Come, give to us, O saving Lord, the bread of life to eat. As when the shepherd calls his sheep, they know and heed his voice, so when you call your family, Lord, we follow and rejoice.

You satisfy the hungry heart with gift of finest wheat. Come, give to us, O saving Lord, the bread of life to eat. With joyful lips we sing to you our praise and gratitude, that you should count us worthy, Lord, to share this heavenly food.

You satisfy the hungry heart with gift of finest wheat. Come, give to us, O saving Lord, the bread of life to eat. Is not the cup we bless and share the blood of Christ out-poured? Do not one cup, one loaf, declare our oneness in the Lord?

You satisfy the hungry heart with gift of finest wheat. Come, give to us, O saving Lord, the bread of life to eat. The mystery of your presence, Lord, no mortal tongue can tell; whom all the world cannot contain comes in our hearts to dwell.

You satisfy the hungry heart with gift of finest wheat. Come, give to us, O saving Lord, the bread of life to eat. You give yourself to us, O Lord; then selfless let us be, to serve each other in your name in truth and charity.

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below: Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise God, the source of all our gifts! Praise Jesus Christ, whose power uplifts! Praise the Spirit, Holy Spirit! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Doxology p94

The Lord be with you.

And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.

We lift them up to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give our thanks and praise.

And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven we praise your name and join their unending hymn.

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith.

All honor and glory is yours, almighty God, now and forever.

Amen.

Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again.

Just A Closer Walk with Thee
FWS: #2158 Rick Founds Words and Music 1990

I am weak , but thou art strong; Jesus, keep me from all wrong; I'll be satisfied as long as I walk, let me walk close to thee. Just a closer walk with thee, grant it, Jesus, is my plea daily walking close to thee: Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Through this world of toil and snares, if I falter, Lord, who cares? Who with me my burden shares? None but thee, dear Lord, none but thee. Just a closer walk with thee, grant it, Jesus, is my plea daily walking close to thee: Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

When my feeble life is o'er, time for me will be no more; guide me gently safely o'er to thy shore, dear Lord, to thy shore. Just a closer walk with thee, grant it, Jesus, is my plea daily walking close to thee: Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.

Greetings PRELUDE CALL TO WORSHIP HYMN (stand)

From: Pastor Wes [mailto:pastorwes@santeeumc.org] Sent: Wednesday, April 02, 2008 11:16 AM Jan Ault Rachel Scott FWS* #2126 To: Walker Shaw Subject: Re: April Worship Planning What a great set of slides for Sunday, Bill. I love the artwork on this passage. FWS* #2193 A few comments - first, could you end with a brighter image than the one you do (an earth-tone image with the outline of a third person). I would suggest changing that image with one of the two brightly colored ones on the slide right before Children's Time. My theme will be how Jesus is revealed at the table today, so I want "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" to feel joyous. Second, on the communion slides, would you remove the words "Santee UMC Communion" from above the words "Great Thanksgiving". As faithful Methodists, we want to communicate that this is God's table, and not ours. One more thing - note that we will be doing Children's Time only in the first service this week. Finally - on announcements - we'll start with the visit from Good News Missionary Baptist Church at 3:30 TODAY!! and Potluck this evening (I'll be passing around sign-ups again this week) - then to the Church Consultation - I will ask for volunteers again - then to Men's Retreat - Victor will speak - then to Pastor Diane (please go to a background slide here, unless Pastor Diane asks for something else) Great work, Bill. You creativity is a gift to the church and fun to work with.
