Presidents report 2006-2007
Well it is that time of the year again when a president has to put pen to paper and give a brief on the year just finished. When I reflect on the comings and going of the club and its activities over the year, it has been pretty hectic. Trips such as the weekend away to the Federation Picnic at Marong, Australian Historic Motor Racing Festival at Winton, Cobden Spring Festival, Charles Hall Korwengie Krankup at Korwengieboora just outside of Daylesford, a day the president had with the ladies at Werribee Mansion in November, it seems that all the men felt that an auction out the road was more important than smelling the roses. There were many more activities. This year I felt that we could have been out in our collectable cars every weekend:- oh wouldn’t that be wonderful!!!! There were lots of runs and get togethers (with other clubs also) throughout the year giving us lots time to enjoy our hobby. Then out of the blue I had to step down from the presidents job due to a personal family problem and I am pleased to say all looks very good at this stage. I would like to thank John Knight our Vice President for taking on the roll of President for the rest of the year, and thank you all for your concerns. -Robin Walter
Acting Presidents Report April-July 2007
After Robin announced his retirement from the Office of President on March 16th I have been Acting President. Since then the club has had a run to the Model Barn in Terang, a Tea meeting at Graeme’s and an excellent day run to the You Yangs with a few “Ups and Downs”. A weekend away as the guests of the Hamilton Car Club was greatly enjoyed by those who could attend and four members also had a day at the Winton Classic Race Meeting on May 27th. On June 23rd we had a club outing to Cobden which included a visit to the Kennett’s China Pottery, The Mouse Trap and Port Campbell Historical Society. Members have once again continued to enjoy the W.I.T.H. Runs in the summer months and the Grub Club in the cooler months. In all, a successful and happy year for our club. Finally, on behalf of Robin and myself, a special Thank You to all of you who served on our various committees and to those who organized our varied and interesting runs. Acting President John Knight. Page 1
RUN REPORT Triumphs and Chamberlains
Steve Dolan and I were at the Colac Car Show at the Memorial Square and we were approached by Graeme Oxley from the Triumph Car Club of Melbourne. We spoke for a while about cars of course and Steve mentioned that I had a Triumph MD. This raised Graeme’s curiosity and he asked if he could have a look at it so we all went out to Barry Chamberlains at Barongarook. Graeme told Barry that the Triumph Club were going to do a trip to Port Campbell on the 21st of July, so Barry invited them to stop into his home on the way for morning tea. The week prior to the 21st there was a big clean up of cars to be washed and polished. On the morning of the 21st the Triumph club arrived at the Colac Visitor Centre where they were met by some of our club members, and after a quick chat Steve and I led the convoy of cars to the Chamberlains. Barry’s wife Lois and daughters had provided a lovely morning tea consisting of hot soup, sandwiches, sausage rolls, tea, coffee and biscuits. There was good food, good conversation and a good array of cars to inspect Jaguars, Triumphs, Humbers and Skodas. We all had a great time. Gerald Young
Tasmania for a week
At the last committee meeting the topic of a trip to Tasmania for one week in Autumn 2008 was raised. If you are interested in this idea, please contact Graeme Chislett Ph 52315670.
The Treasurer and committee would like to thank Paul Durr for auditing the club books for the 2006—2007 year. Thank you Paul.

The major cost to the club involved in producing the newsletter is printing and distributing it. To keep the cost of publishing the newsletter down, I would like to email copies to those who have an email address. By keeping the cost to the club low means our annual fees will remain low. If you wish to have your copy of Wind in the Hair emailed to you please send me an email with your details. firstname.lastname@example.org Thank you -George.
