Wraparound Girth Weld Sleeve

The WPC6 5M elevat ed t emperatu ra is a two- l ayer f ield-jo i nt coatin g system f or pileline operating al ambient and elevated temperatu ra.

Product descri pt ion

WPC65M lield-joint coating. Constr uction: Two-layer system:

Firstlaye r: Visco-elastic adhesiva sealant. Seco nd !aye r : Rad iat ion cross - linked, high density polyet hylene wit h PCI (Permanent Change l ndicator). WPC65M is a wraparound heat-shr inkab le sleeve specially su itable lar higher st ress cond it ions caused both by elevated temperatu ras and by soils with severe cont ract ion between wet-dry cycles . The WPC65M is compatib le with most com mon ly used steel pi pe coat ings and is used fo r girth wel d protection or to recoat (r ehabilitate) long pipe sections and large rad ius bends. WPC65M may be cut to the appropriate lengt h to cover all pipe diameters.

SCOPE

Th is specif ica ti on states the requ irements for heat-shrinkable Thermofit Wraparound Pipe Sleeves, Type WPC 65M to be used for corros ion prevention sealing of pipe j oints on various types of piping systems, includ ing oil , gas, w ater, pipe-type cable, and others. Type WPC 65M sleeves are made w ith a special high performance mastic for corros ion prevent ion and sealing on elevated temperature pipe li nes operating up to 65°C (150°F). WPC65M sleeves should not be used on lines subj ect to high ax ial stresses due to so il or pipe movement or exposed to certain chem ical environments; consu lt Covalence CPG for speci f ic recommendat ions for pipelines fac ing these conditions.

The Thermofit Wraparound Pipe Sleeves are coated with a controlled thickness of a specially formula ted thixotrop ic mastic adhes ive sealant that bonds the sleeves to bare and pre-coated pipe. As the sleeve shrin ks, the mastic flows and intimately coats the pipe surface provid ing pipe protection against corrosion.

Wraparound sleeves may be cut to appropriate length to cover all pipe diameters.
