TEACHING SCRIPTS
Set induction
T : Okay class, before we start our lesson today, let have a game.
-Teacher pastes a majung paper on the board.
-Pupils respond.
T : There are 5 hidden words. There are about shape and space So, the volunteer
can come to in front
and circle the words.
Pupils respond
-Area, cube, cuboids, rectangles and square.
T : What is the type of shapes for rectangle and square?
Pupils respond.
T : Cube and cuboids?
Pupils respond.
T : Do you remember, what are the formula for area of a square and
a rectangle?
Pupils respond.
T : Today, we will learn about surface area of a three-dimensional composite
shapes of cube and cuboids.
Step 1
T : Now, I want all of you to draw a net for cube with 3 cm length.
Pupils respond.
T : Here is the sample for a net of cube.
Teacher paste the sample on the board.
T : Next, cut out the shape and fold to make a cube.
Pupils respond. Teacher observes pupils activities.
T : If you are fnish, put the cube on your table. Now, can you make sure which
one is the surface for a cube?
Pupils respond.
T : The top of the cube is the surface. How can you fnd the surface area for the
cube?
Mathematics Year 6 : Pupils will be able to fnd the surface area of a
Learning Outcomes three-dimensional shape of two or more cubes
and cuboids.
