Postal department of India allotted Customized Pin Code (110 201) to the Suprem
e Court of India. It happened for the first time in INDIA on the occasion of com
pleting 41 years of PIN Code. The PIN was introduced in India on 15th August 197
2.
RaghuramRajan Committee submitted its report on Criteria for Special Category S
tatus to States. According to the report depending upon their Multi-Dimensional
Index (MDI) scores, 28 states should be divided into three categories Least deve
loped, Less developed and Relatively developed Based on the report top five deve
loped states are Goa, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Maharashtra while the bott
om five are Odisha, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand.
* Special status category states include the seven Northeastern states (Arunacha
l Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura), Sikkim, Ut
tarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. The special status is given d
epending on their resources and geography such as Low Population density, Hilly
and difficult terrain, Location of states, Economic and Infrastructural backward
ness and Non - viable nature of state finances.

Union Tourism Minister K. Chiranjeevi launched the 777 days of Incredible India
n Himalayas campaign in New Delhi to mark the World Tourism Day. This campaign w
as started to promote virgin peaks of Himalayas and make India a favoured touris
t destination to attract more foreign tourists round the year. It aims at spread
ing awareness about the fact that 73% of the Himalayan range lies in India. Adve
nture Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) is collaborating with the Mini
stry in the campaign and has designed special adventure programmes such as trekk
ing, river rafting, Himalayan run, mountain and bike events as part of this camp
aign.

tional films -Greatest Show on Earth and Life Altering Journey on Himalayas - al
ong with a map of the Himalayas.
The Supreme Court of India held that citizens have the right to reject all cand
idates contesting an election and directed the Election Commission of India to p
rovide none of the above (NOTA) options in the list of candidates contesting an
election. A bench headed by Chief Justice P Sathasivam gave this judgment based
