The Glorious Church Prior to the Rapture

Pa r t T w o

Dear Fellow Believer:

The coming of the Holy Spirit (or
Holy Ghost), as is recorded in Acts
chapter 2, was the fulfillment of
Jesus prophesying in the Gospel
of John (John 7:38-39; 14:15-18, 25-27;
16:7-14) and Joel 2:28-29. He did not
leave His followers, you and me,
Hilton Sutton, Th.D.
as orphans, but sent God the Holy
President, HSWM
Spirit to infill us and accompany us
daily. He came to oversee the Church, the Body of Christ, as
well as assist each Christian individually.
The Holy Spirit, as He is generally referred to, is God the Holy
Ghost, the third person of the Holy Trinity. He is our Helper
and Comforter. Does every Christian need supernatural help
in overcoming the carnal nature of the flesh and resisting
Satan? The only answer is Yes! Thank God for the Holy Spirit.
Rely on Him all of the time. If permitted, He will put you over
every temptation, trial, and wile of the Devil.
The Holy Spirit is our divinely dispatched School Master, our
Teacher. Because of His coming and presence, you and I have
an advantage over our adversary (John 16:7). He teaches only
from Gods textbook, the Holy Bible. He anoints those who
are divinely selected to fill a place in the ministry of Jesus,
such as apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher. The
School Master uses these anointed chosen ones to assist us
with growth and knowledge of Gods Word, and the anointing one has as a believer (I John 2:27).
It is through the Holy Spirit that loving conviction of sin, righteousness, and judgment comes (John 16:8-11). Conviction
is always the result of Gods immeasurable love. Conviction is
designed to get ones attention and provide the opportunity
for that person to accept the help of the Holy Spirit, Who is
always ready to help overcome an adversity or make proper
adjustments in their spiritual walk.

Jesus Introduces the Holy Spirit

John continues with these words of Jesus, When He, the Spirit
of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth . . . (John 16:13).
It becomes evident from this verse that the Holy Spirit began
teaching where Jesus concluded His earthly assignment.
Here, we are introduced to divine order in the carrying out of
Gods plan for the total redemption of mankind.
Jesus came, laid the foundation for the Church and became
its Chief Cornerstone. When He completed this glorious
beginning, He returned to the glory He had left and turned
the product over to the Holy Spirit.

Jesus continues His introduction of the Holy Spirit to His

disciples. Continuing with verse 13: For He [the Holy Spirit]
will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He
will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

This is the first biblical record of born-again followers of Jesus

being baptized with the Holy Spirit as preached by John the
Baptist: He who is coming after me is mightier than I . . . He will
baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire (Matt. 3:11).

From these words, we realize the Holy Spirit has authority

as does our Lord Jesus and our Father God. However, what
the Holy Spirit speaks or reveals has come directly from the
Father. Therefore, we understand that all the New Testament
writersbeginning with the book of Acts through Revelationcomes from our Father, by the Holy Spirit, to Luke, Paul,
Peter, James, Jude, and John. In the Gospels, Jesus stated that
He spoke only what the Father directed Him to teach.

Acts chapter 2 makes record of about 120 devout Jews waiting in the upper room for Jesus to baptize them with the Holy
Spirit. The coming of the Holy Spirit produced a second major
impact on mankind: The Holy Spiritanointing on the Church.
The first impact was Jesus, and the last will be the impact of
the Glorious Church prior to the event of the Rapture.

Jesus then states that the Holy Spirit will tell you things to
come. The Holy Spirit acting as our Standby or Comforter, as
He is identified In the King James Version, can direct a believer
in their daily life. The Greek word for comforter is parakltos,
or one called alongside. Parakltos can also be translated as
counselor or advocate in a legal sense.
God has truly provided a perfect Helper and Comforter for
the Body of Christ, the Church. Verse 14 is wonderful, He
[the Holy Spirit] will glorify Me [Jesus], for He will take of what
is Mine and declare it to you.
This truth from Jesus is the foundation for First Corinthians
2:16, For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may
instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ.
As a believer, those who are baptized in the Holy Spirit and
remain have an ongoing relationship with Himto them,
He imparts the mind of Christ. Therefore, our steps can be
ordered of the Lord by the Holy Spirit. In so doing, the Holy
Spirit brings about spiritual maturity, pureness, and holiness
in a believers life.
Although Jesus foretold the coming of the Holy Spirit, notice
that the Holy Spirit did not come on the day Jesus was caught
up from the Mount of Olives as revealed in Acts chapter 1. A
period of ten days separated the two events. What was God
waiting for? He awaited the Feast of Pentecost and the gathering of devout Jews from the populated parts of the world,
to Jerusalem, for the celebration of this joyful feast. Let us
read what happened on that day:
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with
one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from
heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole
house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them
divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And
they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with
other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:1-4).

Is Speaking In Tongues For Everyone?

Was the upper room experience just for those assembled

there? Not at all. We know this because of the following Bible
references. First, Jesus commands His followers to wait for the
coming of the Holy Spirit and receive Him (Acts 1:4).
Next, understand and keep in the context the subject of Acts
chapter 2. The subject is the coming of the Holy Spirit
to infill those who are expecting Him. They all spoke in
tongues, and the devout Jews heard all of their languages
coming from those who had been baptized in the Holy
Spirit. The crowd believed the Galileans to be drunk, but
Peter rose up and reminded them that it was only 9:00
a.m. He explained that what they were witnessing was the
prophecy of Joel beginning to be fulfilled (Joel 2:28-29), which
gave Peter the almost undivided attention of the devout
Jewish crowd.
Once Peter completed his explanation, Acts 2:41 states: Then
those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day
about three thousand souls were added to them.

Realize that approximately 3,000 Jews accepted Jesus and

were baptized in the Holy Spirit, speaking with tongues! Do
not confuse baptism in the Holy Spirit with water baptism
for the remission of sins. When studying, one must stay in
context with the subject.
Can you imagine the experience of 3,000 people accepting
Jesus and being filled with the Holy Spirit in one day? If you
cannot, think about this: The Day of Pentecost was the first
day of the Church and its growth. Through Jesus and the Holy
Spirit, God began the Church Age with this mighty supernatural event. Since the Church is the Body of Christ, it is supernatural. When the Church foolishly moved away from the
supernatural, it became a powerless form of religion. Never
allow speaking in tongues to become unimportant. Tongues
are a distinct Bible evidence of one filled with the Holy Spirit,
and it is a gift from our Father. Daily praying in tongues keeps
one edified (I Cor. 14:4).

More Evidence of Speaking in Tongues

Acts chapter 8 covers the evangelist Philips anointed ministry

in Samaria wherein there were healings and miracles. Peter
and John then came and laid hands on Philips converts,
and they received the Holy Spirit. When Simon, the Sorcerer,
witnessed the multitude receiving the Holy Spirit, he offered
money for the gift. It is very evident they all spoke with other
Acts chapter 9 reveals Sauls conversion (Paul) and his being
baptized in the Holy Spirit. Did he speak with tongues? Oh,
yes! In fact, he states he spoke with tongues more than
anyone in the church at Corinth (I Cor. 14:18).

Acts chapter 10 records Peters visit to Cornelius house, a
Gentile. He and all who were in his house received the Holy

Throughout the writings of Paul in First Corinthians (chapters
12-14), he addresses the Holy Spirit, tongues, and the gifts of
the Spirit. I strongly recommend the careful reading of these
chapters. In his letter to the Galatians, Paul places emphasis
on the necessity of walking in the Spirit and the benefit of
praying in tongues.
As I close Part Two of The Glorious Church Prior to the Rapture,
let me call your attention to Church growth. Scripture reveals
the Holy Spirit adding to the Church on a daily basis (Acts
2:41-47). The early church grew as the apostles were anointed
and guided by their daily relationship with the Holy Spirit.
The Roman Empire became so affected by the Church that
its supreme leader, realizing the power and influence of the

Church, created the first denominationthe Roman Catholic Church.

From those days until now, we have watched the true Church
grow in spite of man and Satans interference. Since the Holy
Spirit was sent, by the Father, to oversee the establishment
and growth of the Churchand to bring it to its full potentialwe are foolish to attempt to do so without Him. There
are numerous groups identifying themselves as the Church
while, in reality, they are a powerless religious body denying the authority of God, the Holy Spirit. Paul addresses such
conditions in Second Timothy 3:5.

Ron Jutze, associate minister at
Hilton Sutton World Ministries,
is a passionate follower of Jesus
Christ whose enthusiasm for
God and His Word is contagious.
He is radically committed to
pastors and the building of the
local church. His biblical conviction, that the building of the
local church is the most valuable work in the earth
today (Matt 16:18), causes him to encourage congregations throughout the nation to support their pastor
and become actively involved with the Lords vision
for that assembly.
Rons practical messages strengthen hope in the
hearts of believers, motivating them to rise up and
take their place in the Body of Christ. He is anointed
and experienced to facilitate leadership workshops
and provide the ministry team building skills needed
to bring forth the vision of the local church.

The Deception of Halloween

It is October again, and
you know what that
It is the celebration of
Allhallows Evea night
for witches and black
Yet, to most people, it is a night when
children, all dressed up in costumes,
scour jack-o-lantern lit streets for candy
and treats. Knocking at the door are a
variety of little princesses, goblins, and
the latest action heros. When the door
opens, they shout trick or treat. It really
is cute and seemingly harmless. But, is
that just part of the deception?
There seems to be some controversy
over this holiday. Actually, it more closely
identifies with a festival or celebration,
but it is known by most Americans as
a holiday. In fact, it is the second most
popular holiday next to Christmas!
However, is Halloween really a holy day,
from which the word holiday derives?
Now, I may step on a few toes here, but
as I have heard a great man of God say,
If Im stepping on your toes, maybe
your foot is in the wrong place. Saints,
we are in the end time, and deception
is growing. Jesus says that Satan will
attempt to deceive even the very elect
(Matt. 24:24). Yes, if you are not studying
to show yourself approved and rightly
dividing the Word of God, YOU CAN BE
Halloween is a day the Devil relishes! His
followers on earth are able to practice
all kinds of ungodly behaviors. From the
destruction of property, stealing, frightening people, dressing up like demons,
vampires, witches, and warlocks (like
Harry Potter), all the way to the total deprivation of making human sacrifices. I know
that is a horrible thing to think about, but
it happens, and more so on this night.

Witches cast spells, evil spirits are

enticed to show themselves, and mediums attempt to contact the dead. At the
same time, children traipse from house
to house gathering candy; however, only
from houses you know because most are
frightened their children will wind up
with poisoned candy or candy laced with
sharp metal objects. Pardon me, but isnt
that a clue that there is something inherently wrong with this annual event?
This ungodly celebration has been
embraced by the world. Hollywood
makes movies and television shows to
instill the spirit of fear in which God has
not given us. God has given us a spirit of
power, love, and a sound mind (II Tim. 1:7).
He has also given us gracenot grace
to take part in this celebration, but grace
that teaches us to deny the ungodly and
worldly lust. This grace teaches us to have
a sound mind and live righteouslylooking for the appearing of Jesus (Titus 2:11-13).
Some churches observe Halloween with
an event like a Harvest Carnival or festival of some kind, which I am not against.
I believe the primary intention is to reach
out to the community and provide an
alternative for unsaved children to come
and be safe from harm. A prayer table
might be in place, and the goal is to reach
families for Jesus through their children.
Sadly, I have watched well-intentioned
events become substitute Halloween
parties for the saved. I have seen church
teens dress up like the dead and other
dark, cult-type characters. We seem to
want to give them an alternative to a
satanically-inspired celebration, but
why? If someone were to give a child
applesauce as an alternative to cake and
ice cream, dont you think at some point
they are going to want to try the cake
and ice cream? When one tries something in the occult, they are yielding their
mind to demonic influences.

Some churches decorate with ghosts,

witches, and other things representing
the occult. They say it is just for fun.
However, witches, warlocks, practicing witchcraft, and anything that deals
with the dark forces are ALL activities
HalloweenA Day to Educate! Why
not use Halloween as an opportunity to
educate our children about the occult
and why they should not be caught up
with Harry Potter, psychics, mediums,
Ouija boards, horoscopes, and things our
Lord calls an abomination.
There is no substitute for Halloween. God
is NOT a substitute for Satan. Holiness
and righteousness are NOT substitutes
for unrighteousness and ungodliness (II
Cor. 6:14-15). Jesus light dispels darkness;
it is not a substitute for darkness.
There is no substitution here, but a
CHOICE. The choice is light or darkness
life or deathblessing or cursing. It
takes knowledge in Gods Word to make
the correct choice.
Dr. Suttons newest book, Familiar Spirits
and Witchcraft, addresses demonic activity and the occult practices that many
people, including some members of the
Body of Christ, are deceived into thinking are acceptable. Through this book,
you will find biblical truths that you need
to keep you out of Satans trap. It will
empower you with godly wisdom to stay
on the highway of holy livingpreparing you to be worthy of the crown of a
king and a priest.

Foreword by Dr. Mark T. Barclay

Wow! Dr. Hilton Sutton has hit another
grand-slam home run. What a book! I
wish I could get it into the hands of every
person everywhereespecially the
household of faith. We have never lived
in a time of such deception, seduction,
and familiar spirits as we do right now.
All generations have
had their issues with plagues, wars, and
demons; however, this is the generation and these are the days that the Holy
Scriptures refer to as the most perilous
times. We must know that lurking in the
shadows of our lives are these evil spirits,
trying to change our mind, indoctrinate
us, and if possible possess us.
We also live in a day when we are being
saturated with false doctrines, falsehoods, and false preachers. We knew
this day was coming. The Bible predicts
it. I have heard Dr. Sutton warn us now
for decades of these very days, filled with
these very things. We are not of those
who pull back to the old life or perdition,
as the King James Bible calls it. We are
those who press in until we see the fullness of God manifested in our lives.

light of his message. It seems as though that is the day we are

now living: where the true preachers are being made light of,
and the false teachers and hirelings are being followed.
For years, I have noticed that even in our public schools the
things of Jesus Christ have disappearednot just prayer in
school but other Christian symbols, even during Christian
holidays like Easter and Christmas. However, for Halloween,
in the hallways of those same schools, hang all the symbols
and teachings of witchcraft, goblins,
Wicca, and astrology. Is it not amazing
that we throw God out and immediately invite Satan in? In fact, it is hard to

ore and more I hear the questions, Where is the power

of God that only a few years ago occurred in our church
services? and Why are there so little, if any, of the gifts of
the Holy Spirit manifested in our services? These are proper
questions to which you should be expecting an answer.

We used to hear of shouting Baptists, Methodists, and Pentecostals. Holiness was a lifestyle among these people. They
attended every church service, and camp meetings ran all
summer long. Lives were changed, and people were healed
of all manner of sicknesses on a consistent basis. Deliverance
from addictions such as tobacco, alcohol, foul language, and
demon possession occurred regularly.
The preacher never had to ask the audience for an Amen.
People were listening and receiving the life-giving Word;
therefore, Amens could be heard throughout the congregation.

definition of know is to be informed about or aware of.

Everyone wore their finest clothing to the house of God. After

all, they were to sit in the presence of the King and worship
our heavenly Father. Upon arrival, the regular church folks
would kneel at the altar in prayer until the pastor announced
that it was time to begin service.

The word perilous is interpreted as times of distress. Paul

gives us 18 categories of mankinds condition that causes the
perilous times:

If it were Sunday morning, that statement meant it was time

to go to your Sunday school classroom. There, an anointed
teacher would teach from the Bible. Every student, young
and old, had a Bible lesson booklet called a Quarterly. Those
who faithfully attended Sunday school could read and study
the Bible from Genesis through Revelation.

For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters,

proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal,
despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but
denying its power. And from such people turn away! (II Tim. 3:2-5)

When the worship service began, the choir was full, and
everyone sang from hymnals. The songs had beautiful melodies and lyrics that were always based on Holy Scripture.
When the minister finished preaching, he always concluded
the service with an altar call. It was an opportunity for sinners,
backsliders, or those in need of healing to come forward and
receive ministry. Many of the saints would come to minister
to those answering the call of the Holy Spirit through the

Today, all 18 categories are fully activated and are having a

devastating effect upon mankind, including many Christians.
When Christians, including our ministers, allow themselves to
become lukewarm and somewhat worldly, the effect of these
perils set in whether realized or not. Each of the 18 categories
produces stress, which can be physically, mentally, and spiritually devastating.

During most services, various gifts of the Holy Spirit would

manifest for the edification of the people. What is missing in
far too many churches todayparticularly by Pentecostals,
Charismatics, and Word of Faith folksis the demonstration and manifestation of the power of God!
Because of the increase of those asking, Where is the power
of God in our church services? reveals a fresh hunger for the
presence of God is rising among the people. This new hunger
places great responsibility upon every God-called minister.
We must now spend more time with Jesus and our Father
than ever before. We must seek His anointing, be filled with
the Holy Spirit, and sensitive to the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The
study of the Scriptures is far more important than reading
someones popular book on the subject of church growth,
leadership, Bible psychology, or prosperity. These are valid
subjects, but the Bible is the source for them all. Paul teaches
the importance of basic Bible study.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that
needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth
(II Tim. 2:15).

A Warning From Paul

Paul writes to his spiritual son, Timothy, and states, But know
this, that in the last days perilous times will come (II Tim 3:1). The

The reason Paul could inform Timothy of circumstances and

conditions that would come is found in the teachings of Jesus.
Jesus declares that when the Holy Spirit (the Comforter and
Spirit of Truth) has come, He will tell you of things to come
(John 16:13). Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, wrote letters to
Timothy as he was directed by the Holy Spirit.

Of the list of perils, I want to emphasize the peril of verse 5:

Having a form of godliness but denying its power.

Where is the Power?

In the July issue of our magazine, my associate minister,

Dwayne Byerly, wrote an article entitled Where is the Power.
Dwayne points out that the Holy Spirit is the source of power
and anointing. The answer to his question, Where has the
power gone? lies in Pauls reference to having a form of
godliness but denying the power thereof. To enhance the study
of this verse, let us look a few other translations of this same
The Living Bible translates verse 5 this way: They will go to
church, yes, but they wont really believe anything they hear.
Dont be taken in by people like that.
From the Amplified Bible, verse 5 says: For [although] they
hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and
are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. Avoid [all] such people [turn away
from them].
From The Message translation we read: Dont be naive. There
are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are
going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuckup, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eatdog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical,

treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and

allergic to God. Theyll make a show of religion, but behind the
scenes theyre animals. Stay clear of these people (II Tim. 3:1-5).
It is evident that we must allow the Holy Spirit His rightful
place as our God-sent Spiritual Overseer in order to bring
the power of God back into our church services.
Consider these verses that reveal sources of Gods power:
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power
of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first
and also for the Greek (Rom. 1:16).
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon
you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all
Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8).
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and
with power, who went about doing good and healing all who
were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him (Acts 10:38).
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in
believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy
Spirit . . . in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit
of God, so that from Jerusalem and round about to Illyricum I
have fully preached the gospel of Christ (Rom. 15:13, 19).
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are
perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God
(I Cor. 1:18).
And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us
who believe, according to the working of His mighty power . . .
of which I became a minister according to the gift of the grace
of God given to me by the effective working of His power (Eph.
1:19; 3:7).
Who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation
ready to be revealed in the last time (I Pet. 1:5).

There is No Power in Religion!

A church service without the anointing of the Holy Spirit or

manifestation of Gods power is simply a gathering of people
for a brief religious affair. I must remind you that true Christianity is not a religion. It is the way of life, and there is no
other (John 14:6).
Why so few supernatural manifestations of Gods power?
There are several reasons why there are so few, if any, manifestations of Gods power in most of our churches today.
One reason is that many of our younger ministers do not
have a church background. Thank God they accepted Jesus

as their savior and received some biblical education through
a Bible school, church college, or seminary; however, most
church schools do not introduce their students to the supernatural power of God. Often, the instructors have never experienced a demonstration of Gods power, such as a supernatural healing, miracle, or divine deliverance.
Another reason is that many ministers have never been
baptized in the Holy Spirit. They believe tongues have
ceased and that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for
today. In many American churches, the Holy Spirit is unwelcome, and opportunities for salvation are not provided.
Seldom is there a healing service in our churches in which the
minister lays his hands on the sick in Jesus name. It is becoming rare even in Pentecostal, Charismatic, and Word of Faith
services that an invitation is made to receive the Holy Spirit.
The doctrine of laying on of hands has been set aside.
Please understand that I am not being critical and have no
wish to be. I am simply pointing out why there is a great lack
of supernatural power of God in our church services.

Being Baptized in the Holy Ghost

I shall never forget the testimony of a respected Baptist pastor.

He began to seek God when faced with John the Baptists
statement in Luke 3:16: I indeed baptize you with water; but
One mightier than I is coming . . . He will baptize you with the
Holy Spirit and fire.
As he studied this Scripture, it was clear to see that when
he was baptized in water, he got wet; however, he did not
recall an experience that equaled being baptized in the Holy
Spirit and fire. According to his doctrine, a person received
the baptism of the Holy Spirit when he was born again. Yet,
where was the FIRE about which John spoke when he was
born again?
The fire is symbolic of the divine anointing with power that
thrives when one has truly been baptized, by Jesus, into the
Holy Spirit. This pastor began to search the Word and cry out
to God. He became convinced there was more than he had
experienced and asked the Father for the Holy Spirit. He had
discovered in Luke 11:13 that if you ask the Father for the Holy
Spirit and expect to receive, the Father will grant your request.
This he did, and he received the Holy Spirit and spoke in other
tongues. From that time forward, his ministry was followed
by signs as Jesus teaches in Mark chapter 16.
The Church of our Lord Jesus is commanded and commissioned to lay hands on the sick, cast out demons, and speak
with new tongues. Jesus commanded His followers to wait
for the promised coming of the Holy Spirit and the power that
would come upon them (Acts 1:8).

Order Form

Nothing about the Word of God and our Lord Jesus has
changed or been superseded. Every believer needs to be
baptized in the Holy Spirit in order for Gods power to flow
through them to others (John 7:38-39).
A time restraint on the Holy Spirit is yet another very
evident reason for the lack of the power of God in most
church services. Our services are programmed to a specific
number of minutes. The entire service must be completed
within a certain time. After all, we must not infringe upon the
peoples time. Get them in and get them out is the Sunday
routine, leaving only a few minutes for the Word and no time
for the Holy Spirit. What a tragic mistake!
Today, we cater to the ways of the flesh and not to the Holy
Spirit. The Holy Spirit has almost been programmed out
of the daily church calendar. Few churches have regular
prayer meetings, and the number of services each week has
The prophet Isaiah writes a tremendous truth: But they that
wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount
up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and
they shall walk, and not faint (Isa. 40:31).

Sunday is the Lords Day!

I conclude this article with this thought. The God-fearing of

our nation has lost or disregarded the true meaning of Sunday.
It is the Lords Daythe first day of the weekthe day of His
resurrection. We once set this day aside for going to church for
worship, praise, study, and to draw closer to the Lord.

In my youth, stores were not open on Sunday. Athletic events

did not occur on Sunday. Families gathered and ate together,
but the day centered around the church, the Bible, and our
Lord Jesus. Church services were not limited to one hour or
one-and-a-half hours. We not only knew how to wait upon
the Lord and the Holy Spirit, but desired to do so. It was
supernaturally wonderful.
God forgive us and enable us not to be numbered among
those who have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof.
Choose to allow the conviction of
the Holy Spirit to place in your spirit
a fresh, strong hunger for God and
His powerboth in you and your
church. Accept the Holy Spirit and
His anointing. Walk with Him and
stay close to Jesus and our Father.
