²mocking, lightly esteeming
The ostrich scorneth the horse and his rider (³what time she lifted up herself on high´ Job 39:18). The wild ass ³scorneth the multitude of the city«´ (Job 39:7). Proverb 21:24 ³Proud [and] haughty scorner [is] his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.´ Scorning & pride relate. Bad attitude: pride. Not fearing what one says. Psalm 123:3,4 ³Have mercy upon us, O Yahveh, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt. Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, [and] with the contempt of the proud.´ Contempt ± disdaining, despising. Related to the proud. Those that are ease ± not pressing in to be in Elohiym. Esteeming others is better than self. Something the meek will do. We should be pressing in to be in the Spirit so we can avoid this kind of attitude (scorning, pride). Proverb 22:10 ³Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.´ A scorner ignites contention. Only by pride comes contention (Proverb 13:10). When we are of that kind of attitude, we won¶t esteem what others say. Proverb 1:22 ³How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?´ Many delight in scorning ± one of the favorite pastimes of this country. Our fellowship should be around the gospel of Yeshua. ³« speak evil of no man «´ (Titus 3:2) Particularly among saints, esteem others better than self. Proverb 9:7,8 ³He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked [man getteth] himself a blot. Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.´ Scorning can bring us to a place where we¶re not worthy to receive instruction. ³A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.´ (Proverb 15:12) Proverb 3:34 ³Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.´ Elohiym is willing to return this. We will reap what we sow. (³Be not deceived; Elohiym is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.´ Galatians 6:7) We should really appreciate one another. Can¶t imagine Yeshua doing this (scorning). He rejoiced not in iniquity. He testified against the works of darkness. -To avoid this attitude: Charity ± thinketh no evil, not puffed up (etc.) Charity edifieth²charity keeps a lot of these things out of our lives. Bridling our tongue ³A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.´ (Proverb 29:11) ³In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.´ (Proverb 10:19) Even if something is true, the manner in which we say something, consider if it is needful.
