Dedication of the Lateran Basilica

Todays feast honors the Lateran Basilica as the mother and head of all churches of
Rome and the world. The universal Church has grown tremendously since the 4 th
century when this basilica was dedicated. Let us remember that Family-the Church of
the Home-is the first church and school of faith for each new generation of Christians.
The future of the world and of the Church passes by way of the family. (John Paul
11)
