Founded on the vision of Padmashree Dr. Karsanbhai K. Patel, the Institute of Management,
Nirma University (IMNU), earlier known as Nirma Institute of Management came into
existence in 1996. Embodying the principles of entrepreneurship, excellence and
professionalism, it imparts top-class
business education and has produced
new generation leaders and managers
over the years. The Institute of

Sports @ IMNU
Students at IMNU have been very enthusiastic for sports and show great skills and talent in
various sporting fields. Major sports played at IMNU are Football, Basketball, Volleyball,
Cricket, Tennis, Table Tennis, and Badminton.
The campus has beautiful cricket and football grounds, 2 synthetic courts of volleyball,
basketball, tennis and badminton, as well as several tables for table tennis.
All the Sports events at IMNU are facilitated by SPORTZZZ COMM, the official sports
committee of IMNU.

PARAKRAM
Parakram is a national level Inter B-School Annual Sports Event
organized

by

Institute

of

Management,

Nirma

University,

Ahmedabad. It is organised every year to generate the spirit of

sportsmanship among the individuals and to build a base of
interaction between the students of different B-Schools across the
country. The students experience a thrilling atmosphere of sports and recreation and also get
an opportunity to meet and interact with people from different B-Schools which gives them a
glimpse of their culture and helps them to learn a lot which helps them both in their
professional as well as personal life. Various indoor and outdoor sports are organized during
Parakram for the participants to compete. Parakram witnesses intense passion,
determination, energy and enthusiasm among the participants as well as the spectators. It is
an event worth experiencing for all those who have the opportunity. Parakram guarantees to
remain on the tip of your tongue whenever you are set to talk about Institute of Management,
Nirma University ever after.
Parakram 14 will be organised from 10th to 12nd October, 2014. The event will see top Bschools competing in 7 major games. Each college will have a team of maximum 30 players,
who will be competing in all 7 games. The games are:

Badminton

The colleges which have participated in the event in the past are IIM-A, IIM-I, KJ Somaiya,
Sydenhem, MICA, NITIE, Welingkar, SPM and other reputed institutes. These institutes are
expected to participate this year also.
Additional colleges targeted this season are IIM-U, IBS, SP Jain, LBSIM, GIM, TISS, FORE,
IMI, SIBM, SIIB, IIT-B etc.
