School Newsletter
School website: www.barlowhallblogs.net
What a busy week we have had at Barlow Hall this week. Thank you to all those who supported our
French Week and children in Need days this week - look out for photos on the blog to see what
your child’s class has been up to this week. Thank you and well done to Ms Peacock’s class for a
wonderful French Day class assembly to launch the day and to those parents and families who came
to watch them; details of the dates for the remaining assemblies can be found in the diary slot on this
week’s newsletter. Congratulations and well done to Hope Richmond who entered the M&G Junior
Garden Awards and won £250 worth of gardening vouchers for school for sharing her ‘Junior Little
Garden’ photo with them.

Train to be a teacher here!
Manchester Teaching School Alliance have spaces available for next
year’s primary School Direct teacher training programme. If you have
a degree and have been thinking about teaching, this could be a great
opportunity to train in a local school! Visit http://
www.manchestertsa.com/new-teachers-school-direct/ for more
information or e-mail learn@manchestertsa.com
Breakfast Club/Afterschool Club Intercom system
From next week children and parents using either the breakfast club
or After School Club will be able to cross to the After School Club
building via the school gates and not through the office. Access will
be gained by pressing the intercom button which is located next to
the gate and staff in the after school club building will then be able to
buzz to let you in. For safeguarding reasons could we ask parents
using the facility only to admit themselves and their child onto the
school premises as in the interests of safety we need to know exactly
who is on the premises at any given time.
KS2 Intersports
On Tuesday afternoon, the KS2 children had a great competitive
sports afternoon. Great fun was had by all! Congratulations to
Group 7 who were the group winners and ezch received a trophy!
French Day
On Thursday this week, the whole school took part in a French Day!
Each class had a fun packed day of French themed activities. Everyone looked great dressed in red, white and blue! A great effort –
well done!
Anti-Bullying Day
On Friday 21st Nvovember, children will take part in various activities
in class around anti-bullying to celebrate all the good work we do
around this. There will then be an assembly for parents in the afternoon, where children will showcase some of the work they have
been doing during the day! More details to follow.
Jump Space Stockport
A group of children visited Jump Space in Stockport this week and
enjoyed using up their endless energy on the trampolines! They all
played happily together for the hour and the staff at Jump Space
commented on their good behaviour and what a pleasure it had been
to work with them.
School linking project
Year 5 had a very successful first Schools Linking Project trip with St.
Christopher’s school in Romiley. We went to the Z arts centre in
Hulme and did screen painting and clay modelling. We are looking
forwards to more shared trips in the future.
