WARNING: Operating the tong with the door open by means of a defective or bypassed door interlock system exposes the operator and nearby personnel to potentially fatal hazards. See Section 3 for more information concerning the selection and use of dies. OIL REQUIREMENTS: Premium quality anti-wear type oil with a viscosity between 100 and 200 SSU at operating temperatures. Change oil as recommended by your implement or tractor manufacturer. If oil has penetrated your skin or contacted your eye. MISAPPLICATION: Always use the proper valve for the job. MAINTENANCE: Make sure all bolts are tightened and torqued to the recommended specification. CYLINDER SAFETY: Check clevis clearances before. Use an open center valve for open center applications and a closed center valve for closed applications. A sticking valve (spool bind) may be caused by one or more of the following factors: DIRTY OIL: Oil must be filtered to a minimum of 25 microns. VALVE SAFETY: Read and follow instructions carefully. discontinue use of the component. Filters should be changed regularly spin-on types after 50 hours of initial use and then after every two hundred fifty hours of use. If in doubt. Hook up "in" & "out" as noted on the valve body. CD. completely remove the tack weld area on the u-bolt retainer nut and any damaged threads.wpg . Screw on a nut fully and then weld this nut at one end of each rod to manufacture a pair of spring compression rods. you must establish control of the spring to safely and controllably release the spring compression before removing the second ubolt. COPIED. reinstall the u-bolts. Use the procedures described above to remove the remaining ubolts nuts. use the spring compression rods to compress the spring and two spring caps to a distance which will allow one of the ubolts (with washers if required) to be fed through both spring caps leaving space for the replacement u-bolt nuts. If you find it necessary to open up the holes in the spring caps significantly. u-bolts and rework the other holes in the spring caps.11 REV. OR REPRODUCED IN ANY FORM. Deburr or rework the holes in the spring cap. These spring compression threaded rods should be installed so their welded nuts are on the same end as the nuts welded on the remaining u-bolt. Procure 1/2 or 5/8 inch diameter "all thread rod" made from grade 5 or better material (or metric equivalent) at least 24 inches long. To disassemble the spring pack. To reassemble. install new retainer nuts. it will be necessary to install close fitting washers on the u-bolts adjacent to the u-bolt's welded stop ring before reinstalling the u-bolts in the spring caps. Slide each of these welded assemblies through the openings in the spring cap previously occupied by the removed u-bolt. reinstall the shroud. reassemble new nuts on the u-bolt and tighten until the nuts contact the spring cap. Personnel should stand in an area where they cannot be struck by any flying objects should they inadvertently release the energy stored in the compressed spring. tack weld new nuts and lastly. Remove the shroud and retainer clamp. Tighten slightly to relieve spring compression on remaining u-bolt nuts. Tighten both u-bolt nuts until the spring caps are uniformly loaded. Remove the spring compression rods and install the second u-bolt (with washers if required) through the remaining holes in the spring caps.
