Extraction of FI-CA Open and Clear Items to BW through Mass Activities Based on Custom Selections
Introduction
SAP industry solution for Utilities (IS-U\CCS) carries out a number of tasks in batch or as background jobs as
an effective way for processing high volumes of data. These data are transferred to BW from the source
system (IS-U) for generating various types of reports based on legal and statutory requirements as well as to
make business decisions on a day to day basis.
There are two types of extraction at the item level that happens from the IS-U source system1. Extraction of Cleared Items (Transaction Code-FPCIBW)
2. Extraction of Open Items (Transaction Code-FPBW)
However, the standard mass activity both for open and clear items does not give the flexibility to extract data
based on certain pre-selections at the item level into BW.
The pre-selections are only limited to(a) Business Partner
(b) Company Code
(c) Business Area
In the above scenario,it is not possible to perform the extraction based on contarct accounts or contarcts.
Neither it is possible to extract the data to BW based on certain conditions at the item level like Main
transactions, Account Determination etc.
This article provides a step by step guide as to how the extraction of FI-CA Open and Clear items is
performed from the source system (IS-U) to BW through mass activities (FPBW and FPCIBW) based on
custom selections.
