EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
NAME OF THE PROJECT
The proposed project shall carry the name St. Therese of the
Child Jesus Nursing Home.
LOCATION
The proposed nursing home will be erected on a lot with a
total area of 924 sq. m. located in Lopez Jaena St.,Molo,Iloilo
City.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
St.

Therese

the

Child

Jesus

Nursing

Home

will

be

established as sole proprietorship business of Theresita Ruiz, a


residence of Alta Tierra

Village, Iloilo city. It will be built

purposely to serve the need for nursing home in Iloilo City due
to the growing number of working people in the family thus they
will not be able to take care of their elderly.
MARKET ANALYSIS
St. Therese of the Child Jesus Nursing Home will only cater
all elderly aging 60-95 years belonging to the middle and upper
income class to at least insure affordability of payment. The
nursing home accommodates a total of 15 clients. The monthly
rates that the client/ family will pay is P20,000.

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
The proposed nursing home is a bungalow building that is
constructed on a lot with 924 sq. m, covering a total floor area
of 825 sq. m. It has a total of 6 rooms in the ground floor.
Materials

that

will

be

used

in

the

construction,

and

the

furniture and equipment that will be utilized in the operation


are sufficiently available. They can be acquired from different
suppliers near the location at reasonable prices.
MANAGEMENT ANALYSIS
St.

Therese

of

the

Child

Jesus

Nursing

Home

is

sole

proprietorship type of business. The owner and at the same time


the supervisor shall receive all profits and shall absorb all
losses. She will have direct supervision of all nursing home
personnel.
Job specification of nursing home personnel are set to avoid
duplication of function and conflict between them. Salaries and
wages are based on the provision provided by the Department of
Labor.

The project St. Therese of the Child Jesus Nursing Home is
feasible as shown by the result of the research conducted. The
owner has enough money to start the business. The net income in
the first year covers only period starting December 2014 that is
the reason why there is a substantial in net income in the
succeeding years.
St. Therese, Child of Jesus Nursing Home will be beneficial
to

its

customers

because

of

its

accessibility,

good

accommodation, affordable and reasonable monthly rate. It will


contribute employment and additional taxes to the government.

total floor of 825 square meter for the building. The lot is 600
meters away from Iloilo Doctors Hospital and 200 meters away
from Medical City.
Accessibility of lot to its target market would ensure the
success of the project.
TARGET MARKET
St. Therese of the Child Jesus Nursing home targets the
elderly aging 60-95 years old. The institution is aiming to give
services that the family would not able to provide

because of

the increasing employment and job opportunities of people in the


family thus they will not be able to take care of their elderly.

SUPPLY AND DEMAND ANALYSIS
Based on our survey, 70% agreed to put there elderly in a
nursing home because the family is busy and nobody would take
care

of

them.

The

survey

was

made

through

answering

the

questionnaire. Out of 30 correspondents, 21 of them(which is 70%


of 30 correspondents)agreed to put there elderly in a nursing
home

and

of

them

disagreed(which

is

30%

of

the

30

correspondents)
Factors affecting supply:
1. Availability of rooms and bed spaces
2. Government laws and regulations
Factors affecting demand:
1. Elderly coming from provincial and municipal areas.
2. Proximity or accessibility of the nursing home
3. Convergence offered and facilities available
Existing Market Situation
The increasing employment and job opportunities of people in
the family annually thus they will not be able to take care of
their elderly.

Technical Description of the Product/ Services


St. Therese of the Child Jesus Nursing Home will cater
elderly aging 60-95 years old.
The nursing home will have a staff that will provide the
following for its clients:
a.)

Personal

care

such

as

dressing,

bathing,

and

toilet

assistance,
b.)

To maintain cleanliness of rooms, toilets and bathrooms,


and orderliness in the entire nursing home;

c.)

Prepare 3 cooked meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner


plus 2 snacks and;

d.)

Provide

adequate

security

by

hiring

agency

contracted

security.
The

nursing

home

also

provide

certain

equipment

and

furniture and fixtures, like television set for entertainment

The following are the requirements that need to complied
before one will be considered as a client.
a.) Admission form signed by the occupants and their family
member.
b.) Has at least 30,000 family income.
c.) Medical history and laboratory results(CBC, Fecalysis and
urinalysis)

Labor requirement
The nursing home will employ a total of 15 personnels; 3
nurses, 3 caregivers, 3 security guards, 2 cooks, 2 janitors and
2 driver.
All personnel must pass a biodata, resume, 2 2x2 picture,
NBI clearance to ensure that they have a good record from past
experiences and also to secure the safety of clients.

Qualification Standards
1.) Nurse
Male or female, must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in
Nursing with hospital experience of at least one year and also
has valid license as registered nurse. Between age of 24-35 years
old.
2.) Caregiver
Male or female, a trained caregiver, has an experience of at
least one year. Must be 24-35 years old.
3.) Security Guard
Male, Agency Contracted, and at least 2 years of relevant
experience. Must be 28-40 years old.
4.) Cook
Male or female, has at least two years cooking experience at
the restaurant or in a diner. Must be 30-40 years old.
5.) Janitor
Male or female, has at least a high school graduate. Must be
26-40 years old.
