What is your Familys Fire Plan?

Last summer, firefighters responded to

more than 40,000 incidents, and 4,600
bushfires and grassfires burned across
the state. Current forecasts suggest
that parts of Victoria are at aboveaverage risk of bushfire and grassfire
this summer.
On hot, dry and windy days fires can
start and spread quickly.
Its time to increase your
understanding of the fire risk where
you live, prepare your property and to
work out what you should do if a fire
does start.

The Fire Danger period has been

declared in our area effective from 8th
December 2014. Please let all your
family, friends, acquaintances and
complete strangers know. Encourage
them to complete their fuel reduction
(safely and in accordance with council
by-laws) before this date AND ensure
that their fires are thoroughly
extinguished by then.

For more information visit the Vic

Emergency Website
http://emergency.vic.gov.au/
map#prepare-fire

Once the FDP is in force, it is highly

unlikely that CFA would issue a permit
except under limited circumstances so
fuel reduction would then need to wait
until FDP is removed.
Talk to your family about the fire risk
where you live, and make plans for
what youll do on hot, dry and windy
days.

From the School Office

We have had two confirmed cases of school sores from students who attended
the Grade 5/6 camp last week. Please be aware that this condition is highly
contagious. If your child is showing any signs of school sores ie: rash or
blisters, etc appearing anywhere on their body, you must keep them at home
and seek medical advice.
