Britt: Meet Rogan.

My roommate adopted him back in May, and just a few months later on October 12th he passed away from contracting the parvovirus. Parvo
is an extremely contagious and deadly disease. Its common for unvaccinated dogs to contract this disease from the streets, especially in urban areas with a dog
filled neighborhood.

A dog that has not been vaccinated can contract parvo and die within just 72 hours if it is not treated immediately
with proper veterinary care.

Getting your puppy vaccinated can protect your dog from parvo, along with many other diseases. Vaccinations are a quick and easy way to protect
your pet from the possibility of contracting a deadly disease before its too late.

70,000

Bri: 70,000 puppies and kittens are born each day in the US, which means that if every puppy and kitten received
their first round of shots it would cost

$1,050,000

about $1,050,000 each day to vaccinate these animals, which then goes on to costing a
70,000 x $15 = $1,050,000

$383,250,000

grand total of about $383,250,000 a year

$1,050,000 x 365 = $383,250,000

and unfortunately the majority of these litters end up in animal shelters, like The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City
who are left with paying these costs.

This shelter offers low cost veterinary care, treating 20,000+ animals a year.

it costs over $5,000 a day to keep the shelter operating. They have 4 major events a year to help with funding, but with growing animal populations the costs never stop
adding up.

Britt: When we discussed our ideas with Keith, the CEO of the Humane Society, he expressed that generally spay and neutering gets most of the
attention and he found that educating about the importance of vaccinating was just as important, and would provide pet owners with greater insight on
how to take care of their lil buddy.

PROBLEM
Pet owners arent aware of the necessity of vaccinating puppies
and kittens to prevent the chances of contracting highly contagious
and deadly diseases.

With the recent experience that hit close to home, we are focusing on how not all pet owners are aware of the necessity of vaccinating
puppies and kittens to prevent the chances of contracting highly contagious and deadly diseases.

CHANGE
We want to educate pet owners of the importance of young
pet vaccinations while encouraging them to donate to the
shelters veterinary practices.

The majority of a shelters costs go to providing all incoming pets with their needed medical care. So we want to educate pet owners about pet
vaccinations while simultaneously getting them to donate to a shelters veterinary practices.

REACHING OUT TO
Current pet owners
Emphasis on millennials
Those who enjoy a laugh

We are trying to reach people who already know about the shelter, but dont realize what all goes into prepping the animals for adoption. We want to target
millennials between the ages of 18 and 30, but really any one who enjoys pets and a good laugh.

Bri: so with our problem and target audience in mind, Pup Art + cat too came to life. paired with our call to action of vaccinate. prevent. go fetch.

The most crucial. Get your puppy protected as soon as s/he is of age to decrease
possible chances of infection. A combination vaccine, a 7-way core vaccine,
usually includes adenovirus cough and hepatitis, distemper, parainfluenza,
parvovirus, leptospirosis, and coronavirus. With your purchase, one lucky
shelter puppy will receive this vaccination. Youre truly the best, thank you!

Rabies. Refer to your veterinarian, age for vaccination varies by local law.

Dont forget the boosters. The potential of your furry friend being exposed to

IN HONOR OF ROGAN
Infected with the parvovirus, little Rogan here lost his life
much too soon. Parvovirus is an extremely contagious
and deadly disease. It is common for an unvaccinated
dog to contract this disease from the streets, espesically
in urban areas with a dog filled neighborhood. Symptoms
of parvovirus include loss of appetite, fever, vomiting, and
severe, often bloody, diarrhea. The virus acts very quickly,
and can take a dogs life within 72 hours if it is not treated
immediately with proper veterinary care. Getting your
puppy vaccinated can protect this from happening, along
with protection from the diseases listed above.

also included in each packet is an info sheet about why vaccinations are crucial to the beginning stages of any young pets life. To help out a new pet owner, we
have provided a generalized schedule for vaccinations, along with a blurb about Rogan and why this topic is dear to our hearts.

IN HONOR OF ROGAN
Infected with the parvovirus, little Rogan here lost his life
much too soon. Dont let this happen to your furry friend!
Feline parvovirus (also known as feline distemper) is an
extremely contagious and deadly disease, and can be
easily contracted in urban areas. This virus acts very
quickly, and can take a life within 72 hours if it is not
treated immediately with proper veterinary care. Getting
your animal vaccinated can protect this from happening,
along with protection from the diseases listed above.

and of course there are info cards catered to kittens as well.

The art prints can be sold at any adoption event with this simple crate that can easily transport the products from
one location to another and showcase them for sale at their small set up.

At these adoption events the shelter may use a sandwich board to advertise that they have plenty of art prints for
sale to donate to Vaccinate. Prevent. Go Fetch.

To spread the word about Pup Art, a Facebook cover would send customers directly to a store on the shelters
website

where the need for vaccinations is explained and how you can help by purchasing

a reminder of why you love puppies and kittens.
