Total New Creation: New Spirit and New Heart and God in us.

Beware the mere new manhood of Saul, in which is received a genuine new heart
minus new spirit and God's Spirit within that new spirit.

1 Samuel 10:6-11 And the Spirit of Jehovah will come upon thee, and thou shalt
prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man. And it shall be, when
these signs shall come to thee, thou shalt do as thy hand shall find; for God is
with thee. And thou shalt go down before me to Gilgal; and behold, I will come
down to thee, to offer up burnt-offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace-
offerings: seven days shalt thou wait, until I come to thee and inform thee what
thou shalt do. And it was so that when he turned his back to go away from Samuel,
God gave him another heart; and all those signs came to pass that day. And when
they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the
Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them. And it came to pass,
when all that knew him before saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets,
then the people said one to another, What is this that has happened to the son of
Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?

It is evident that God's Spirit fell on Saul, but Saul was not given another
spirit only another heart. We see later that that new heart and even the truth
that God's Spirit Spoke through Saul was not enough to please God. For when Saul,
who had been turned into another man by the reception of a real and literal new
heart trespassed against God as Word and was then rejected by God:

1 Samuel 15:22-29 And Samuel said, Has Jehovah delight in burnt-offerings and
sacrifices, As in hearkening to the voice of Jehovah? Behold, obedience is better
than sacrifice, Attention than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of
divination, And selfwill is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected
the word of Jehovah, He hath also rejected thee from being king. And Saul said to
Samuel, I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of Jehovah, and thy
words; for I feared the people, and hearkened to their voice. And now, I pray
thee, forgive my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship Jehovah. And
Samuel said to Saul, I will not turn again with thee; for thou hast rejected the
word of Jehovah, and Jehovah has rejected thee from being king over Israel. And as
Samuel turned to go away, Saul laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it
rent. Then Samuel said to him, Jehovah has rent the kingdom of Israel from thee
to-day, and has given it to thy neighbour, who is better than thou. And also the
Hope of Israel will not lie nor repent; for he is not a man, that he should
repent.

Because of Saul's lack of a new spirit in which to dwell, the Spirit of God left
Saul:

1 Samuel 16:14 And the Spirit of Jehovah departed from Saul, and an evil spirit
from Jehovah troubled him.

But we see David, who was given both a new heart and a new spirit as acceptable to
God, even eternally acceptable as new creation in Jesus Christ:

1 Samuel 16:13-15 And Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst
of his brethren. And the Spirit of Jehovah came upon David from that day forward.
And Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah. And the Spirit of Jehovah departed from
Saul, and an evil spirit from Jehovah troubled him. And Saul's servants said to
him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubles thee.

and having gotten a new spirit, we then we see God through David requesting a new
heart for David:

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within
me.

It is a thing of God to give whatever hearts and all the supposed emotional common
sense within them that He has made to whomsoever He chooses. We see that God has
created multiple hearts and gives them to various creatures for His Own purposes.
We have already seen God giving a man a new man's heart in the case of Saul and
that was the basis of calling him 'another man'.

God giving the heart of beast to a man:

Daniel 5:20,21 But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit hardened unto
presumption, he was deposed from the throne of his kingdom, and they took his
glory from him; and he was driven from the sons of men, and his heart was made
like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses; they fed him with grass
like oxen, and his body was bathed with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the
Most High God ruleth over the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it
whomsoever he will.

God giving the heart of a man to a beast:

Dan 7:3,4 And four great beasts came up from the sea, different one from another.
The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till its wings were
plucked; and it was lifted up from the earth, and made to stand upon two feet as a
man, and a man's heart was given to it.

But of God's people God has said:

Ezekiel 36:24-27 And I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of
all the countries, and will bring you into your own land. And I will sprinkle
clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your uncleannesses and from
all your idols will I cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and I will put
a new spirit within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh,
and I will give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and
cause you to walk in my statutes and keep mine ordinances, and ye shall do them.

You as new creation in Jesus Christ are then possessed of a new spirit and a new
heart.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

In this newness of Life, we have then God in us as dwelling in us.

John 14:16,17 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world
cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him;
for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

and

John 14:20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I
in you.

and
Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the
Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is
none of his.
God is then in us, has given us new hearts to know Him as Love and as Word.

The new heart is the same heart that God has as part of God revealing us ( as our
true selves in Him) and Him to us:

1John 4:16-18 And *we* have known and have believed the love which God has to us.
God is love, and he that abides in love abides in God, and God in him. Herein has
love been perfected with us that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, that
even as *he* is, *we* also are in this world. There is no fear in love, but
perfect love casts out fear; for fear has torment, and he that fears has not been
made perfect in love.

Plainly, in order for love to be perfected --and for us to really know it -- not
as Word of the future but as present truth in us, we would have to have the same
heart of God. "As He is so are we IN THIS WORLD." We have the heart of God in us
and the mind of Christ to understand God and to understand ourselves and all of
reality.
