Theses were all taken before I had my Canon Rebel

T5. I had a simple point and shoot digital camera. I
think they came out well for that type of camera. The
two bodies of water were taken on the Missouri River
in Montana. The owl was in my garden at home and
the pond is in the BYU-Idaho gardens. I sharpened all
of these, cropped a few, and brightened them all.

Past Photos

This is one of the first times that I used my Canon

Rebel T5. It is also one of the first times that I actually
tried to take quality, professional photos. I went out
and shot photos of things that were red. I tried getting
some different angles on some of them to make them
more interesting to look at. All of these were taken
on BYU-I campus or at my apartment complex. The
only edits that were applied to these were cropping,
sharpening, and increase of brightness.

Flora and Fauna

Perspective of 12

At this point I still had not mastered my new

camera. The weather was dark and raining and I
still did not know the settings for taking pictures
inside. The priority modes that are displayed
here are shallow focus, deep focus, and blurred
motion. I tried taking the deep and shallow focus
photos with interesting angles. The only
editing that I did in Photoshop was brightening
and adjust the saturation.

Portraits

Bannack Ghost Town was a great

photo excursion. We spent the whole
day taking pictures. My favorite photos
to take there were the portraits. There
were several models. Some were
students dressed up in period clothing
and doing poses as requested.
Some of the portraits I took had great
lighting. These photos used a silver
reflector and continuous lights. The
only editing I did to them in photoshop
was brightening, cropping and
adjusting the saturation.

Bannack Portraits

For these edits I used Adobe Camera Raw, Adobe Lightroom, Photomatix, and Photoshop. Out of
these programs I had only used Photoshop before.
This was a great learning experience. The pink
flowers were sharpened, and had the satruartion
and contrast increased in Camera Raw. The scene
was taken at Bannack using bracketing. I put three
photo through Photomatix and came out with this.
The Spori building was sharpened using Adobe
Lightroom. The deer is a picture that I took back
home before this class, I used photoshop to cutout
the deer from its original background.

This is my first attempt at photography. I
did some photography for fun but never
professionally. This photobook is inspired by
a Digital Imaging class that I took my senior
year of college at BYU-Idaho. This book has
inspired me to conitnue to progress with my
photography and editing skills.
