Paterson- On Tuesday, Superior Court Judge Marilyn C. Clark ruled that the five men
accused of raping another student at William Paterson University's Wayne campus were
not flight risks and therefore should have their bail lowered. The two hundred thousand
dollar bail is now set to fifty thousand for freshmen students Noah Williams, Darius Singleton, Garrett Collick, Termaine Scott and Jamel Latimer.
The students were arrested on Saturday after a female student at the university told campus police that she was raped in a dorm room by the five men.
All the defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges made against them.
As of now, all five men are banned from entering campus and from contacting the victim.

Now for a story that really hit close to home…

Union- An email was sent to Kean University students, faculty, and staff on Monday
that supported the school’s controversial purchase of a two hundred nineteen thousand
dollar conference table. The emailed assured that this multimedia conference table will
benefit students directly and is more of an investment rather than just a piece a furniture
for Kean University. Executive Vice President of Operations Philip Connelly said that,
“Students benefit from Kean’s enhanced image that is the result of more external individuals going to meeting held in Kean’s world-class meeting spaces.”
This emailed referenced President Dawood Farahi’s Vision 2020 initiative, a plan to improve academic standards and university relations while developing the school into a
global institution.

Bad News …Ravens?

The Baltimore Ravens are making rounds again in social media. Janay Rice appeared on
Monday, on the Today show, to talk about the whole incident that went down after a video of her husband Ray Rice striking her unconscious went viral. After taking a lot heat
for apologizing for her role in the elevator incident in a news conference held in May,
Janay told Matt Lauer that it wasn’t entirely her idea. Janay suggests that the Baltimore
Ravens gave her and Ray a “general script” to go by. She also went on to say she was
willing to do it, to help with their appearance in the media and with Ray’s image and career.
The NFL has reinstated Ray Rice as of last week and he is now eligible to play.

Hands up Don’t shoot the Rams…
The five Rams players who entered the field with their hands in the air in a -Hands up,
Don’t shoot - pose, will not be fined for their actions. The players were showing their

support for protestors in Ferguson, but the St. Louis Police Officers Association
(SLPOA) were not impressed. Business Manager for SLPOA, Jeff Roorda (ROOOR_DA), said in a statement, “I’d remind the NFL and their players that it is not the violent thugs burning down buildings that buy their advertiser’s products. It’s cops and the
good people of St. Louis”.
While the Rams organization and police department attempt to bury hatchet, the Rams
still stand by their players and insist that they were simply showing positive support for
the community and exercising their right to free speech.
