LUTUNG KASARUNG
A long time ago in west Java there was a kingdom. The king was Prabu Tapak Agung.
He had two beautiful daughters and no son. Purba Rarang was his first daughter, and Purba
Sari was his second daughter. When the king was about to pass away he gave the throne to
his second daughter, Purba Sari. Purba Rarang was very disappointed. She thought that she
deserve to replace her father as the ruler. She discussed the situation with her fianc,
Indrajaya. Then she got an evil idea. She asked a witch to cast a spell to Purba Sari. Soon
after that Purba Sari had a strange skin disease.

tell us that Purba Sari was became an ugly woman because she got spelled by her
evil sister, Purba Rarang.

LAKE TOBA
Once upon a time there was a prosperous village in a far away island called Sumatra.
In northern part of the island, lived a farmer whose name was Toba. He lived alone in a hut
by a small forest. He worked on his farmland to grow rice and vegetables that he sells to local
market. Once day he wanted to catch some fish so he went to a river and fished there. He was
very surprised when he got a big fish. The fish was as big as human being. Soon he went
home and put the fish in his kitchen. He planned to cook the fish for his dinner that night.

tell us that a farmer found a big fish and the fish turned into a beautiful woman.

GUNUNG TANGKUBAN PERAHU

One upon a time in west Java, Indonesia lived a wise king who had a beautiful
daughter. Her name is Dayang Sumbi, she like weaving very much. Once she was weaving a
cloth when one of her tool fell to the ground. She was very tired at the time so, she was too
lazy to take it. Then she just shouted out loud. "Anybody there? Bring me my tool. I will give
you special present. If you are female, I will consider you as my sister. If you are male, I will
marry you. Suddenly a male dog, its name was Tumang, came and brought her falling tool.
Dayang Sumbi was very surprised. She regretted her words but she could not deny it. So, she
had marry Tumang and leave her father. Then they lived in a small village Several months
later they had a son. His name was Sangkuriang, he was handsome and healthy boy.
Comment : This paragraph is good and easily understanding. This paragraph tell us that
Sangkuriang father was a dog because her mother swear if a male gave her a tool,
she will marry him.

MALIN KUNDANG
A long time ago, in a small village near the beach in West Sumatra, a woman and her
son lived. They were Malin Kundang and her mother. Her mother was a single parent
because Malin Kundang's father had passed away when he was a baby. Malin Kundang had
to live hard with his mother. Malin Kundang was a healthy, diligent, and strong boy. He
usually went to sea to catch fish. After getting fish he would bring it to his mother, or sold the
caught fish in the town.
Comment : This paragraph is good, easily understanding, and make us know that Malin
Kundang was a diligent boy, but soon, he became a seditious son.

CINDERELLA

In the past era, there was a beautiful young girl named Cinderella. He lived with his
mother and two sisters. Her mother and sister was arrogant and bad tempered. They treated
Cinderella very badly. Her step mother made Cinderella do the hardest job in the house, such
as scrubbing the floor, cleaning the pot and pan and preparing food for the family. Her second
step sister, on the other hand doesnt work on the house. Their mother gave them many
handsome dresses to wear.
