“EXECUTIVE SUMMARY”

We are stating an adventure store in Islamabad. Its name is Gear up

Adventure Store. It will provide the products of internationally well known

branded companies. Products will be available on rental and on sale. Its

target market is teenagers and foreigners. We will offer online business to

our customers in order to accommodate our valued customers. GUAS will

also provide the agency services to Maglite, Swiss Knifes, and Inova in

Pakistan. It only faces one big competitor in Islamabad that is the Gown

House.

#1 independent outdoor retailer in Pakistan

• Cultivate mountaineering and outdoor culture amongst the nature lovers and

Gear up Adventure Store is a camp gear store. It’s parent company, Alps ‘N’ Valleys , Pakistan
originally founded as a tourism firm in Islamabad in 1998. It deals in domestic tourism. It plans and
organizes tours to northern areas. The other services offered by AVP include desert safari, mountain
climbing courses, deep forest trekking, etc.

Gear up Adventure Store (GUAS) will provide camping gear for the clients of AVP. So, in a way we
can say that Gear up Adventure Store will act as a supplier of camping gear for AVP. Initially, GUAS
is offering only the camping gear, however, it plans to expand its operations and will also provide
other outdoor adventure gear for rock climbing, skiing, etc.

OBJECTIVES:
The main objectives of GUAS are stated as below:

• To develop the sense of importance of adventure sports in youth.


• To provide assistance to its members and to others regarding arrangement of their
expeditions.
• To provide camping equipment to other clubs, organizations & individuals.
• To promote family & children adventure activities combining with general tourism.

Gear up shops the outdoor marketplace to ensure that it brings its clients the best available

products and the best possible value. It endeavors to build and maintain strong relationships with its

suppliers. It welcomes suggestions from its customers and consistently works with its suppliers to

communicate these suggestions into improved products. Ultimately, a solid supplier-retailer

relationship translates to solid retailer-customer relationship.

The products offered by Gear up Adventure Store are:

It plans to add more products to its current product line. These products include rain
suits, camping crockery, etc.

 MARKET ANALYSIS:

The market research indicated that the potential customers of Gear Up Adventure Store will

include adventure clubs, professional mountaineers, armed forces and students. The target market

comprises of people in the age group of 8-60 years. GUAS plans to provide all sizes of rucksacks &

daypacks for its customers. It will also provide on rental basis to people. So GUAS is the first camp

gear store in Pakistan providing both products (Rental & Fresh). Therefore, there is only one

competitor (Gown House). So, the risk of competitors is very low for the time being.

 MARKETING STRATEGY:
Gear up believes that value pricing means much more than a figure on a price tag. Value

pricing means that products are well made, and they function in the environment for which they were

created. It means products are durable, and that customers receive authentic advice in their use.

There are different ways by which one can attract the potential customers. GUAS plans to

market its products by using the following marketing & advertisement modes:

TELEMARKETING.

• Catalogs.

• Banners.

• The management has developed a web page so as to hit the clientage which surfs on

internet.

• It has been listed in yellow pages.

• It has been listed in the Chamber of Commerce Directory.


• It plans to shoot some video clips in hilly areas where people will be camping using

GUAS tents & sleeping bags so as to advertise the camping gear. Then these video

clips will be played by the cable operators during movie ads.

• GUAS Pakistan also plans to market its products in different cities by exhibiting

them. So that people become aware of traveling fully equipped.

• GUAS also plans to use radio as a marketing tool.

Campers Village is committed to provide its clients with great service. Its staff is bright,

energetic, and friendly people who love the outdoors. GUAS are continually learning

about the products they sell, and continually strive to improve their service to their

clients.

“OPERATING PLAN”
The operating plan describes the manufacturing methods, operating facilities
and the purchasing procedure. The “tents” are imported in the form of finished goods
from China. Some are also manufactured by a local company in Lahore. Gear Up store
is offering light weight tents which are easy to carry during trekking and these tents are
very compact. Fiber rods are used in the tents so as to assure the light weight of the
tents. The other product offered by Gear Up Store is “sleeping bags”. Gear Up
adventure Store is offering two types of sleeping bags keeping into consideration the
altitudes and temperature of different areas. The two types of sleeping bags offered are:

• Feathers sleeping bags( used at very high altitude)

• Polyester sleeping bags(used at comparatively low altitude)

The sleeping bags are purchased from Afghan Market in Fakeerabad


(Peshawar). Some second hand sleeping bags are also bought by foreigners who sell
them at disposing prices because they don’t want to take them back to their home
countries. These are used for renting purposes. Gear Up adventure Store is very
concerned about its customers. Therefore, the sleeping bags are rented every time with
a clean liner so that the clients don’t feel uncomfortable. These liners are washed and
ironed to maintain the hygiene standard.
The third category of products includes “rucksacks” along with “daypacks”. The
rucksacks and daypacks are designed after examining the Swiss, American & German
designs. Those designs are then modified to match our customer’s needs. Then these
designs are given to the skilled tailors and thus, being manufactured. The client is given
the option to customize his/ her rucksack so that if they want any additional straps or
pockets in their rucksacks then they can tell their demand. However, Gear Up
adventure Store charges some minimal amount for this added service.
“FINANCIAL PLAN”

As it has been also discussed that gear up adventure store is a partnership business it
includes three partners. There share is as follows;

Shoaib = Rs 350,000

Shahzad = Rs 250,000

Bilal = Rs 250,000

All profits and loss will be shared at the ratio of Equity in business.

Conclusion:

Finally we would like to say that this store will operate on the

principle of efficiency and effectiveness. And will satisfy its

customers according to their desires and needs. Through this the store

will achieve the customer’s loyalty, which is a big asset for any

business. This will reflect the good image of the store. In nutshell our

saying is your absolute satisfaction is our goal. With the passage of

time the store will open its branches in the rural areas of Pakistan.
