Administration and Products. you will find the following items that you will need prior to installation:  Letter notifying you which products are licensed  Package of DVDs (see “Installation DVDs” below)  License file (only if a dongle has also been shipped to you)  Instructions on how to run the License Utility (if a dongle is not used) Installation DVDs The DVDs associated with the aspenONE release include:  Aspen Documentation DVD – includes all AspenTech documentation. Aspen Administration components (SLM Server and Aspen Security (Aspen Framework)) and some Aspen Engineering products do not require a license to install. but can be used separately to browse the documentation and install PDF documentation. This includes all manuals (in PDF format) and standalone versions of Help files. Start Installation To begin an installation. refer to the aspenONE Deployment Guide. the AspenTech Installation Browser will request the products or product set that you want to install and request applicable DVDs as needed. Packaging Included in your package from AspenTech. You will be prompted to configure your license information prior to installation. Alternatively. you must configure the license information before you can install. 6 1 Introduction . The AspenTech Installation Browser contains two tabs. For all others. insert the appropriate DVD into your DVD drive.aspenONE Overview All AspenTech products are released on a set of DVDs that will guide you through your installation. AspenTech Installation Browser The AspenTech Installation Browser provides a mechanism for users to validate their product licenses and browse through the products that they are licensed for prior to installation. This DVD is not used in the product installation process. When the products are determined to have valid licenses. DVD content can be shared from a network server. regardless of the applications being installed. This installation guide presents the steps to suite. For a complete description of the contents of those DVDs.  aspenONE Product DVDs – includes a number of DVDs that contain the installations for Aspen products.

Clicking Install starts the process during which you will select the products to be installed on your computer. The AspenTech Installation Browser also includes links to Aspen Technology support centers and web sites for contact information. and post-installation configuration procedures. For more information. From the Products tab. and known problems and workarounds. and aspenONE Diagnostics. see the aspenONE Deployment Guide. you can install the Aspen Administration products – Aspen SLM. Aspen Documentation DVD Before installing any AspenTech product. The default location for Aspen CAPs is: o Windows Vista and Windows 2008 Server C:\Users\Public\Documents\AspenTech\Aspen CAPS\ o Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server – C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\AspenTech\Aspen CAPS 2 Installing Aspen CAPs 11 .2 Installing Aspen CAPs This chapter explains how to install the current versions of the Aspen CAPs. All AspenTech products are offered on a 3-disc DVD set.

Aspen Supply Chain Family includes the following products: Aspen Collaborative Forecasting (CF). If this dialog box does not appear a few seconds after inserting a DVD. Locate the directory that contains the Aspen Supply Chain Family installation kit and double-click setup.

The AspenTech Installation Browser – License Configuration Type dialog box appears. 4 Select the desired method of product licensing: o License Server – Select this option if you want to use only license files located on a network license server. o Standalone License File – Select this option if you want to use only license files that are located on your local machine.2 Click OK. 2 Installing Aspen CAPs 13 . o Both – Select this option if you want to use license files that are located on a network license server and license files that are located on your local machine. 3 Click Next. The AspenTech Installation Browser – Welcome dialog box appears. Important: Do not select the None option when installing Aspen Supply Chain Family products.

6 If you selected Standalone License File or Both on the AspenTech Installation Browser – License Configuration Type dialog box. the AspenTech Installation Browser – License Files dialog box appears. click Add License File and navigate to the location of the license file. If the desired license file name does not appear in the list. 8 14 If you selected License Server or Both on the AspenTech Installation Browser – License Configuration Types dialog box. 2 Installing Aspen CAPs . the AspenTech Installation Browser – License Servers dialog box appears. 7 The License Filename field displays a list of license files. Click Next.

10 Wait while the installation program reads your license files and determines the products for which you have valid licenses. The AspenTech Installation Browser dialog box appears again. 11 Click Next. Click Next. The AspenTech Installation Browser – Determining Licensed Products dialog box appears. When this process is complete. click Add Server and navigate to the location of the license server. If the desired license server name does not appear in the list. The Licenses field displays a list of products for which you have valid licenses. 2 Installing Aspen CAPs 15 . the installation program displays a Completed message and indicates the number of licenses found.9 This dialog box displays a list of license servers.

18 Click Yes. The License Agreement dialog box appears. 13 Expand DVD 2 – Manufacturing & Supply Chain. 15 Click Next. 16 Select Modify. and then select Aspen Chemical Supply Chain. The Program Maintenance dialog box appears. The Welcome dialog box appears after a few seconds. 14 Click Install to begin the installation process.12 Select the Products tab. 16 2 Installing Aspen CAPs . The Feature Selection dialog box displays the location where the software will be installed.19 Click Next. The Computer Configuration Type dialog box appears 20 Select a computer configuration type. o The o Click “+” to view subfeatures. to install the feature. either Standard Install or Server Install. and Supply Chain Planner. The Installing Aspen Supply Chain Suite dialog boxes display. Aspen Supply Chain Family includes the following products: Aspen Collaborative Forecasting (CF). Locate the directory that contains the Aspen Supply Chain Family installation kit and double-click setup. To upgrade Aspen CAPs: 1 Insert the Aspen Supply Chain Family V7. Note: Common features are always installed in the following folder. Note: If your company has set up Aspen Supply Chain Family software for installation from a network-accessible drive. If so. To stop and exit the installation.3 installation DVD into your DVD drive. click Cancel. allowing you to monitor the progress of the installation. see the aspenONE Deployment Guide. 18 2 Installing Aspen CAPs . The Welcome dialog box appears after a few seconds. and then select Aspen Chemical Supply Chain. The Licenses field displays a list of products for which you have valid licenses. 12 Select the Products tab. 13 Expand DVD 2 – Manufacturing & Supply Chain. The Program Maintenance dialog box appears. 14 Click Install to begin the installation process.

There are three methods for uninstalling AspenTech software as described below: 1 Microsoft® Add/Remove Utility 2 Microsoft Taskbar 3 aspenONE Removal Uninstalling Aspen CAPs Using the Microsoft Add/Remove Utility To uninstall features and subfeatures using the Microsoft Add/Remove utility: 1 On the Microsoft taskbar. 4 When the removal is complete. 3 Click Yes to confirm removal of the feature. The Windows Installer begins the removal. The Add/Remove Programs dialog box appears with a list of all programs available for removal on the computer. 3 Uninstalling Aspen CAPs 25 .3 Uninstalling Aspen CAPs This chapter describes how to uninstall Aspen CAPs.

Aspen Supply Chain Family includes the following products: Aspen Collaborative Forecasting (CF). see the aspenONE Deployment Guide. click Close on the AspenTech Uninstaller – Uninstall Progress dialog box. 4 When the uninstallation is complete. Aspen SCM. 3 Click Uninstall. Removal of the selected features begins. select Start | Programs | AspenTech | Uninstall AspenTech Software.

Caution: After confirming removal on the Remove the Program dialog box. 13 Expand DVD 2 – Manufacturing & Supply Chain. it is not possible to reverse the removal. When this process is complete. The Remove the Program dialog box appears and prompts for confirmation before starting the removal of Aspen Supply Chain Suite features. The AspenTech Installation Browser dialog box appears again. and then select Aspen Chemical Supply Chain. The Licenses field displays a list of products for which you have valid licenses. The Program Maintenance dialog box appears. 17 Click Remove to begin the removal of all features in the Aspen Supply Chain Suite. the installation program displays a Completed message and indicates the number of licenses found.10 Wait while the installation program reads your license files and determines the products for which you have valid licenses. 12 Select the Products tab. 15 Click Next. 16 To remove the indicated Aspen Supply Chain Suite products.
