INTRODUCTION TO NEW PATTERN OF EXAMINATION:
The Australian Dental Councils Written Examination is designed to test the candidates
knowledge of the science and practice of dentistry and to assess clinical judgement and
reasoning skills relevant to dental practice in Australia.

4 Papers held over two full consecutive days containing

RESULTS:
Candidates attempting the ADC Written Examination are advised that results will appear on the
candidate's Results Profile as a Pass or Fail only.
To be awarded a pass in the Written Examination, candidates must PASS all four written papers.

NEW PATTERN GOOD OR BAD?? :

Previously Adc Part 1 Had an Mcq And Saq Paper And Part 2 Exam Used To Be A 6 Day Affair (2 Days
Written Theory+4 Days Of Practical Exam On Manikin And Patients).
Now Part 2 Has Become 2 Days Exam Procedure With No Written Exam Component,Which Means They
Are Going To Thoroughly Assess The Theory Knowledge Of The Candidates In Part 1
Itself(i.e.Almost Part 2 level) This Is Why They Have Introduced Scenario Based Questions And
Removed Saqs.

SCENARIO BASED QUESTIONS: These questions are created to test the candidates knowledge of the

DENTAL MATERIAL SCIENCE

PRACTICE OF DENTISTRY
ASSESS CLINICAL JUDGEMENT
REASONING SKILLS RELEVANT TO DENTAL PRACTICE IN AUSTRALIA.

from(WESTMEAD HOSPITAL) a husband wife duo who have cleared ADC clinical exam in First
attempt in July 2013, and have been trained thoroughly under 8 week orientation course in Melbourne.

The course will cover the clinical concepts(conventional and latest) in a lucid and easy to
understand lectures.
After attending the lectures the candidates will understand the books better.
Candidates will be given time to discuss and clarify their doubts after every session
