Shadanga mantra

Shiva has five aspects of his shakti – Consciousness, Bliss, Will, Knowledge and
Action – Citsakthi, aananda shakti, iccha shakti, gyana shakti and kriya shakti.
Sarvagyata shakti- This is the all knowing aspect of Shiva- the gyana shakti. This
will become one of the sheaths as Vidya. Vidya implies limited knowledge, not
ignorance.
nityatRpta shakti- This is the ever satisfied aspect of Shiva- the iccha shakti, which
will become the sheath rAga. Raga implies desire on certain aspects and hatred on
certain other aspects.
Anaadibodhata shakti- The eternal awareness as of Shiva as shakti. This becomes
the sheath maayaa, which shows a bheda buddhi, the diversity of this creation.
Svatantrata shakti- This is the ever free, not bound by any conditions aspect of
Shiva – The aanandashakti. This will become the sheath nityati, which has
conditional workouts.
Nityamaluptata shakti- This is the undiminished power aspect of Shiva as- kriya
shakti, to do anything- kartum akartum anytakartum- to do, to undo and to redo any
action. This becomes the sheath called kalaa.
Anatata shakti- The eternal nature of shiva- the initial spanda caused, cit shakti.
This becomes the sheath kaala- Time.

From chit shakti evolved mahas, from aanada shakti buddhi and ahamkara, from
