I am happy to
know that
Indian
institute of
chemical
engineers is
holding an
international annual event Indian chemical engineering congress i.e.
CHEMCON 2014, which is scheduled to be held during 27-30
December at Dr. SSBUICET [S.S Bhatnagar Institute of Chemical
Engineering and Technology ]Panjab university Chandigarh . It is also
learnt that CHEMCON is the most prestigious event organized by
chemical engineers of world .It is wonderful that overall theme of
event would be chemical engineering emerging dimensions and
challenges ahead which includes lectures by professionals . The
organization of Indo-Japanese joint sessions is an added flavor to
this event.

Panjab University being one of the oldest university of India has
contributed significantly for scientific and technological
advancement of the country. The chemical engineer graduated from
our university has held high positions all over India and abroad. It is
high time for the teachers, researchers, innovators, manufacturers,
policy makers, IP experts, management experts, and other to share
their views in the platform provided for mega event.
I welcome all the participants to the city beautiful Chandigarh who
will be deliberating on the issues concerning chemical engineering
profession during the conference. I am confident that CHEMCON
2014 will be a very successful mega event. The outcome of this
event will bring a radical change in present chemical engineering
profession scenario and make it globally valued profession.
I wish a grand success for the event

It is a great pleasure to know that Indian institute of chemical
engineers and technology [IICHE] is holding its 67 th annual session
of chemical engineers [CHEMCON- 2014] at Panjab university
Chandigarh from 27th – 30th December 2014. The event focuses on
Chemical engineering emerging dimensions and challenges.
CE is a lively, rapidly, growing and exciting endeavor in which new
ideas and concepts are constantly generated to help increase the
wealth of human society and to enrich human culture. Chemical
engineering is versatile as they are turned to micro or molecular
level as meso or equipment scale and finally with the macro –
scale integrated plants. Chemical engineering has a tradition and
culture of being an evoking discipline and has fluidity.

Chiral engineering will become crucial and will offer challenges for
asymmetric synthesis and clever separations. Crystal engineering
will demand attention. Nanotechnology will become centre –
stage. Biotransformation will become increasingly important and
engineering of such reactions will demand attention. Direct
conversation of monomers to polymeric products, including fibres,
looks promising. Cleaner and greener is smarter on intrinsically
safe processes and plants will become common. A cluster of
