Memory In Motion
Say It Again
Say It Again is an activity that uses large motor movement, listening, and reciting skills to
help the children memorize the monthly Bible verse.
What You Need: No supplies needed
What You Do:
During the activity: Lead the children in doing the motions while saying the verse several times
together.
What You Say:
During the activity: We have a new Bible verse and I cant wait to teach it to you. This one
verse tells us about everything we needeverything! Are you ready? (Pause.) It says, You are
everything I need, Psalm 119:57. Do you know WHO that verse is talking about? (Pause.)
JESUS! Jesus is everything we need. Thats why when I ask, Who do you need? I want you
to say, [Bottom Line] I need Jesus. So tell me: Who do you need? (Pause.) [Bottom Line]
I need Jesus! Now lets practice our new verse. Just say what I say and do what I do. You are
(point up) everything (hands out to sides) I need (point thumbs to chest), Psalm 119:57. (Open
your hands like a book.) Good job! Lets say that again! (Repeat the verse together with
motions several times.)
At the end of the activity: There are lots of things we think we need, but really all we need is
Jesus. He knows what we need and will always take care of us. So tell me, who do you
need? (Pause.) [Bottom Line] I need Jesus!

Make It Real (Small Group)

SMALL GROUP LEADER (SGL): Jesus helped some people in our Bible story today that no
one else would even talk to. They had boo-boos all over their bodies and people thought they
were gross. I would be so sad if I had no friends and no one wanted to talk to me. Would that
make you sad? (Pause.) Sure, it would! But the men in our story knew Jesus was different.
They knew they could ask Him for help and they did! What did Jesus do when the men
asked for help? (Pause.) Jesus helped them! He made all of their boo-boos go away!
You know what that means? (Pause.) We can ask Jesus for help, too! It doesnt matter who
you are or how big the problem is; we all need Jesus. Who do you need?
CHILDREN and SGL: [Bottom Line] I need Jesus.
SGL: Thats right! You need Jesus. [Bottom Line] I need Jesus. We all need Jesus.
Okay, its time to say our memory verse. Well say it one time together with the motions, and
then anyone who wants to say it by yourself can have a chance to do so.
CHILDREN and SGL: You are everything I need, Psalm 119:57.
SGL: Good job! Okay, who wants to give it a try and say it all by yourself?
(Give each child the opportunity to say the verse on their own. Have your stickers/hand stamp
ready to give when they say it.)
SGL: I am so proud of you! Now I want to do something special in our prayer journal. I want
each of you to write your name. Then Im going to give you a heart sticker to put beside your
name. When its your turn to put on a heart sticker, were all going to say, Jesus loves (childs
name).
(Let the children take turns writing their names in your journal. Give the children a heart sticker
to hold. When you call their name, let them put their heart sticker beside their name and lead
everyone in saying, Jesus loves (childs name).)
SGL: Jesus loves you very much. He knows you need Him. Whenever you need help, just
ask Him. He hears you and has the power to help you. Lets pray and thank God right now for
giving us Jesus.

Prayer
SGL: Dear God, we just want to say thank You for loving us so much. Thank You for Jesus
and that Hes always there to help us. I pray each person here will think of You first every time
they need help. We love You, God. In Jesus name, amen.

Make It Fun
Ten Times
Ten Times is an activity that uses large motor movement and counting skills to introduce the
Bible story idea of 10 men needing help.
What You Need: No supplies needed
What You Do:
During the activity: Call out actions for the children to do. Each time you call out an action,
count to 10 together as you do each action 10 times. Repeat actions and continue playing as
long as the children are having fun. (Suggestions: Hop on two feet, hop on one foot, jumping
jack, turn around, take ten steps back, take ten steps forward, pat legs, clap hands, touch the
ground, pat head, etc.)
What You Say:
During the activity: I want everyone to come stand in front of me. Before we play our game, I
want us to all count to 10 together. Ready? (Count to 10.) Perfect! Okay, were ready to play!
When I call out an action, I want us to do it together 10 times. We can count out loud together
while we do it. Okay, the first action is to jump 10 times! (Jump 10 times while counting to 10.)
Yay! Now clap your hands 10 times! (Continue in this way as long as you wish to play the
game.)
At the end of the activity: Whew! That was fun! Reminds me of our Bible story today.
Remember there were 10 men who needed Jesus to help them. Did he help them? Yes! And
He will help us too!

Make It Fun
Red Spot Boogie
Red Spot Boogie is an activity that encourages kids to shout out the Bottom Line each time
the music stops.
What You Need: DVD control to pause this months theme song and the red spots.
During the activity: Instruct kids to dance around while the music plays. When the music stops,
have the children go and stand on a red spot. Shout, I need Jesus, and take one spot away.
Continue until all the spots have been removed.
At the end of the activity: Talk about how we started with 10 spots like the 10 sick men, and
each time the music stopped, we said, I need Jesus, until there were no more spots, just like
the sick men. The 10 men asked Jesus for help and He helped them.

What You Say:

Before the activity: Look at all theses spots on the floor! Lets count them. (Count each spot
out loud.) 10 spotsjust like the 10 sick men in our Bible story. Im going to start some music.
When the music stops, I want you to go stand on one of the red spots.
During the activity: Are you ready? (Pause.) (Start the music.) Dance around and sing with
me. (Pause the music.) Go stand on a red spot. (Pause.) Now shout it with me: [Bottom Line]
I need Jesus! (Repeat.) Super job! Lets take one spot away. (Remove one of the spots and
start the music again.) Dance, dance, dance. (Continue until all the spots have been
removed.) Wow! Look! We danced and shouted 10 different times until all the spots were taken
away.
At the end of the activity: There were 10 sick men who asked Jesus for help and He helped
them! Jesus healed all their spots! Just like the sick men needed Jesus, you and I need Jesus,
too! Who do you need? (Pause.) [Bottom Line] I need Jesus!
