problem, hypothesis, scope and delimitation, significance of the study and
definition of terms.

Background of the Study

Electronic devices, advance multimedia, technology and computers
are now common things we have to deal in our everyday life. Especially
the Internet is becoming more and more important for ever ybod y as it is
one of the advance useful technology multimedia. Therefore we thought
that it would be necessary to think about some good and bad aspects or
characteristics of how this influences us, what impacts it has on our social
behaviour and what the future will look like.
It is a very large society which is using internet for education only
but unfortunately we have also a huge amount of number of people

evolution of technology but when we talk about the social networks it is

extremely dangerous for youth and become enormously common and
widespread in past few years.

The phenomena of social network is quite simple to understand, it is

a web based facility which allows individual user to build a profile
identity and generate subjective associations and connections among
himself and list of other friends and communicate with them at a central
location. The Internet changed our life; there is no doubt about that.
There are many advantages of the Internet that show you the importance
of this new medium.

Statement of the Problem

1.

Could social networking affect the study habits of FIT (FEU

I n s t i t u t e o f Tec h n o l o g y ) s t u d e n t s ?
2.

What are the positive effects of social networking to FIT (FEU

I n s t i t u t e o f Tec h n o l o g y ) s t u d e n t s ?
3.

What are the negative effects of social networking to FIT (FEU

Significance of the Study

Despite the widespread use of social networks by students and its
increased use by instructors, very little empirical evidence is available
concerning the impact of social network use on student learning and
engagement. This paper describes our semester experimental study to
determine if using micro blogging and social networking platform most
amenable to ongoing, public dialogue for educationally relevant purposes
can impact college student performance and grades.

spending more and more time talking from behind a screen. Things which
