As the country's largest oil refining and marketing company, we continuously aspire to
be socially responsible and good corporate citizens. Thus, we integrate sustainability and
corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs into our business prospects.
Through Petron Foundation Inc. (PFI), our CSR arm, we launch and maintain various
initiatives that address national concerns in essential areas such as education,
environment, health and human services, and other advocacies in partnership with the
communities, local and national government units, like-minded organizations, and our
employee-volunteers.
Ultimately, our goal is to contribute to a brighter future for Filipinos by fueling H.O.P.E.
(Helping the Filipino Children and Youth Overcome Poverty through Education), our
flagship program in education.
By creating partnerships, Smart has transformed Smart Communities into a stronger, more established
CSR and CS program: Smart Kabalikat. Renaming Smarts CSR and CS program Kabalikat emphasizes
that initiatives are crafted hand in hand with the communities, often involving their participation in
various stages, from development to implementation, to evaluation and monitoring.
What marks Kabalikat and makes it sustainable is that all its programs and projects are embedded,
relevant and aligned to business units and interests. Almost all areas of Kabalikat demonstrate the
application of ICT for development, in alignment with a company-wide advocacy to promote Internet
for All.
At the same time, Kabalikat programs also serve as incubation and testing ground for the
development of new ideas that may produce new products and services.
Kabalikat is relevant not only to social investors, shareholders and the general public, but also to
employees who keep the spirit of volunteerism alive by participating in CSR and CS initiatives.
With Kabalikat, Smart establishes itself as a long-term partner in a communitys development sa
Edukasyon, Kabuhayan, Kaligtasan, Kalikasan at Kalusugan.

San Miguel Foundation, Inc. is committed to the empowerment of San Miguel host
communities and various stakeholders by harnessing corporate social responsibility among the
various San Miguel businesses in pursuing mutually beneficial programs that lead to selfreliance and sustainability.
Goals
San Miguel Foundation, Inc. will initiate, manage and support social development initiatives
that:
Promote education to youth from low income families through scholarships, literacy classes and
support programs like supplemental feeding, book donations, etc. Strengthen communities
through capability building activities and the provision of basic social services; Support local
enterprises that bring livelihood opportunities to community groups, dependents, San Miguel
retirees and other stakeholders; Provide assistance to disaster-stricken communities through
relief and rehabilitation programs; and protect, preserve and regenerate the environment.
