The InCarrier Loader/Unloader (InCarrier L/UL) is a machine for:

Loading and unloading devices in or out of an InCarrier is the basic function of the InCarrier Loader / Unloader.
Loading untested semiconductor devices from a transport medium (tray, tube, metal magazine, bulk) into InCarriers
Unloading and sorting tested semiconductor devices from InCarriers into transport mediums (tray, tube, metal magazine, can).
LOCATION OF EMERGENCY OFF SWITCHES
(1) Emergency OFF switch front side right
(2) Emergency OFF switch front side left
(3) Emergency OFF switch rear side right
(4) Main Air Switch
(5) Main Power Switch
There are 3 different signal words used to describe the various danger levels
"DANGER" Indicates an imminently hazardous situation that, if not avoided, will result in death or severe injury.

"WARNING" Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or severe injury.
"CAUTION" Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in moderate or minor injury and/or in damag
of the product.
Operating elements and their function/task
Emergency Off switch
- Stops all movements in the machine and disconnects the machine from the power supply, exept the power line and the EMO-Box.
- Shut down the internal vacuum pump and the compressed air supply.
- Needs to be reset after activation.

Power OFF Button

- Switches the power supply off. After switching OFF the machine is shut down, but the Controller PC and the optional vacuum pump a
still powered.
Power ON Button
- Switches the power supply of the entire machine on. In ON state the machine, the Controller PC and the optional vacuum pump are
Touch screen
- Informs the operator about current operating states.
- Entry platform for settings.
- Start and stop of operation.
- Horn off.
Production Mode is the standard and default mode of operation of the handler.
The Cassette stacks and holds the carrier plates in horizontal position before loading to the handler?
The Start Lot feature provides assistance to the operator to open a new production lot.
The End Lot feature provides assistance to the operator to close the current production lot completely.

The arrow on the top of the cassette shows the movement of the carrier plates, out of the Cassette at the Loader Module and into th
Cassette at the Unloader Module.
Navigation Wizard shows the modules of the machine and the temporarily chosen module.
The POWER OFF/ON button is located Left side of the MT_InCarrier handler.
Touch screen user interface serves as, the operator to machine interface
Status field shows the temporary status of the InCarrier L/UL, see table below.
Carrier Plates is a layer of engineering material that holds the units for test in uniform formation and position, it serves as a tray.

Message Line is where the InCarrier L/UL tells his errors and messages
Status - Meaning
??? - No connection to the application, status not yet known
Init - Last known setup will be loaded
Idle - Machine is ready for setting up
Setting up - Machine is doing the homing runs
Ready - Machine is ready for production
Working - Machine is working in Production mode
Pausing - Condition immediately after pressing STOP
Paused - Condition after pressing STOP
Error - There is an error
Checking- Checking Machine is checking its condition, e.g. after doors locked again
Loader parts and their function
Single Cassette Loader
loads empty InCarriers from the Cassette to the Transport Loader.
unloads full InCarriers from the Transport Loader to the Cassette.
Input Pick & Place (P&P)
picks up the devices from the Distribution Plate and passes them to the InCarrier opened in the Matrix Opener.
Matrix Opener
opens and closes the fixing springs of the InCarrier Unit Loader.

the InCarrier is clamped in the Matrix Opener.

the InCarrier is lifted up to the same level as the Distribution Unit Loader. So the Input Pick & Place can pick up and move the device
horizontal to the Matrix Opener.
Vertical Shuttle Loader
the Vertical Shuttle Loader consists of the Matrix Opener and a lift.
Transport Loader
transports the InCarrier from the Single Cassette Loader to the Vertical Shuttle Loader and vice versa.
Contains a camera to read the Data-Matrix-Code of the InCarrier.
Distribution Unit Loader
the Distribution Plate with different guiding rails filled with devices by the Bowl Loader .
can move to fill the 4 guiding rails with the devices out of the single track of the Bowl Loader and receives the device coming from
the bowl loader module.
Bowl Loader
loads bulk material devices to the Distribution
Unloader parts and their function
Single Cassette Unloader
loads full InCarriers from the Cassette to the Transport Unloader .
unloads empty InCarriers from the Transport Unloader to the Cassette.

the Single Cassette Unloader and the Single Cassette Loader are mechanically identical, they differ only in the movement sequence
Transport Unloader
transports full InCarriers from the Single Cassette Unloader to the Flip Shuttle Unloader and vice versa.
Contains a camera to read the Data-Matrix-Code of the InCarrier.
Matrix Opener
opens and closes the fixing springs of the InCarrier.
flips the InCarrier by 180 and lowers the InCarrier to a defined level.
the InCarrier is clamped in the Matrix Opener.
puts the devices on one Shuttle Plate of the Dual Shuttle .
Flip Shuttle Unloader

the Flip Shuttle Unloader consists of the Matrix Opener and a lift with Flip Unit.
Output Pick & Place (P&P)
picks up the devices from the Dual Shuttle .
sorts the devices according to their BIN result to the specified bulk Unloader
Dual Shuttle
transports devices from the Matrix Opener to the Output P&P .
Bulk unloader
holds tested / sorted devices by means of canister.
