I have improvised and developed my knowledge further to learn

how a film production takes place and the processes involved

behind filming. I have worked individually on tasks such as
research where I looked into opening sequence related to the
genre that our opening sequence is going to be. The genre
coming of age has many elements that I have researched on
too such as the use of different types of lightening to reflect
various moods conveying feeling.
I also researched on the famous film called Fast girls and
watched the opening sequence. This helped me to plan what
elements are important to include in a film with specific age
certification how and to use different camera shots to attract
the target audience.
Also by researching on this opening sequence I discovered the
way the production team uses titling and credits to highlight
the work of production team. The credit order was definitely
fundamental as it showed the status of the work put in perhaps
to entitle them with an ownership.
Pre-production process was very carefully listed and done by
our production team, where we planned the production of the
opening sequence. As a group we decided to name our
production Wheel back productions which clearly presents the
idea of the story line because wheel is a short term for wheel
chair and back reflects on the revenge perhaps a comeback of
an character in its role allocation of being in sports field. I have
made sketches to visualise the ideas of different camera angles
and shots that can be used in our opening sequence. I have
also looked into factors of risk assessments and how it can be
prevented. Our production team has created an animatic story
board to see the motion and estimate the time for each act and

shot. This also allowed us to make any alternative changes and

improvements that can be possibly made. We excluded few
shots as did break the 180 degree rule. Locations and map
details were also done by a member of our production team.
The main process of production had few difficulties due to time
management however we created a call sheet and co-operated
well to the production of the film. We filmed 3 main scenes
which were very tricky due to outdoor setting location but no
such thing just as weather condition affected out filming. We
has a story board of different angles and shots of the camera
which helped us as a guidance throughout the shooting process
such as placing the tripod on the bus ,what side to film from or
what camera shot must be used i.e. close-up shot, establishing
shot etc.
We filmed the indoor scene with similar guidance of plan and
sketches/storyboards of the scene successfully.
We are currently working on editing and improving the order of
the scenes so that they adjust fairly and blend in with each
other effectively. I have created an animated banner that casts
our production name and the film name, in order to marketise
it. I am also working on a questionnaire that is to be given out
after our first edit of the opening sequence. This will help us get
results from the target audience and develop the sound and
other factors on the feedback given.
To marketise a member of my production team has created a
poster of the film which I have then done a re-view on to not
only analyse but bring out the meaning of each iconography
that relates to the narrative of the opening sequence.
Further on we are planning to continue editing and evaluating
our work as we go. Overall so far it has been a great experience
working on this task, stretching our knowledge and building on
media terminology continuously.
