St Valentines Day Italian

style? Thats amore!

January 15 NEWSLETTER

T h e Q u e e ns H e a d - B r o a d C h a l k e

Next month we combine one

of our delicious Round The
World special menus with
all the romance of St
Valentines Day for our
Italian-themed La Festa
Degli Innamorati (the Feast
of Lovers) event.
Running from lunchtime on
Friday, February 13th through to
the evening of Saturday, 14th - St
Valentines Day, of course! - we will be
serving a mouthwatering range of Italian
cuisine to those celebrating the most lovedup 24 hours of the year.
But you dont have to be Romeo and Juliet to
enjoy our Italian flavours. Bring the kids along
for lunch or an early supper and youll find an
array of Valentines crafts to keep them occupied. In addition, each child will be given a key
following a tradition originating in Padua, where
children get small golden keys to ward off epilepsy. Did you know that as well as being linked
to lovers and romance, St Valentine is also the
patron saint for epilepsy (also known as St
Valentines Malady), fainting and beekeepers?

Please reserve a table for

your chance to enjoy a
taste of Italy - including
homemade pizzas - in
Broad Chalkes dedicated trattoria/pizzeria
(otherwise known as our
dining room!). It is likely to be
a popular event because as well
as offering guests the opportunity
to savour our themed menu in romantic surroundings, our St Valentines
celebrations culminate with Italian tenor
Michele Ci singing live from 8pm on Saturday evening. Check out his amazing repertoire at www.michelecirignano.com
Other events to look out for in February include
Shrove Tuesday (Feb 17), when we will add
some pancake specials to our menu.
Looking further ahead, we are planning some
exciting Irish-themed entertainment and food
the following month to mark St Patricks Day
on March 17 - Irish stew and Guinness anyone? And on Mothering Sunday (March 15),
we will have childrens crafts available and a
special gift for dining mums.

Book ahead for new breakfast option

Some say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so we thought it only right that we
should add it to our food and drink offering. We can provide a range of choices from a hearty full
English to eggs how you like em (on toast, boiled with soldiers, etc), as well as bacon and sausage
sarnies that will set you up for the day. We even offer a Champagne brekkie for special occasions.
We often have guests in our cosy B&B rooms, so were usually in the kitchen cooking up a breakfast of champions for them. However, we need to know in advance if you are planning to come for
an early-morning treat, so please book ahead. Breakfast is available daily from 8.30-10am (last
orders at 9.30am). We will be throwing our doors open for breakfast from Monday, February 2.
