Sweet Twosome Jumper Pattern

The mother-and-daughter jumper that’s cute enough for two! Practical and warm for victory-gardening, pretty enough to live in all
winter long.
Materials:
CHADWICK’S RED HEART SWEATER WOOL (1 oz. balls)
FOR DAUGHTER

SIZE 4 — 7 balls of main color.
SIZE 6 — 8 balls of main color.
SIZE 8 — 10 balls of main color.
SIZE 10 — 12 balls of main color.
FOR MOTHER
SIZE 12 — 15 balls of main color.
SIZE 14 — 16 balls of main color.
SIZE 16 — 18 balls of main color.
SIZE 18 — 20 balls of main color.
1 ball of contrasting color for each size.
21-inch circular knitting needles No. 3 and No 5.
Steel crochet hook No. 1.
Elastic to fit waist.
4 small buttons.

Work straight until piece measures in all

(or 1 inch less than desired length to bottom of waist ribbing).

Dec 2 sts as before only in same gores in which previous dec
was made. There remain

Place a marker in one p 2 rib at each side to designate side
seams. Change to No. 3 needle and work in ribbing of k 2, p 2 for
2 inches, keeping continuity of p 2 panel in skirt through ribbing.
Change to No. 5 needle and k 1 rnd, increasing around to

Make sure when increasing that there are the same number of
sts between markers for Front and Back.

Knit around until piece measures, from top of ribbing,

ending in line with side marker.

For Back, bind off the next

then continue to knit across remaining sts.

Work back and forth in stockinette st (p 1 row, k 1 row) binding
off 4 sts at begin-ning of each row until there remain

Bind off 2 sts at beginning of each row until there remain

Bind off.

STRAPS (Make 2) ... With No. 3 needle cast on

1st row: Sl 1, * k 1, p 1. Repeat from * across. Repeat this row
once more. Next row: Sl 1, k 2 tog, O, then k 1, p 1 alternately to
3 sts from end of row, O, p 2 tog, k 1 (2 buttonholes made).
Repeat the 1st row for ribbing until piece measures

Bind off in ribbing.

Block straps, stretching them to
10"
Block jumper to measurements given. With main color work 1
row of sc around bottom of skirt and top of bodice. With
contrasting color, work sc in each st around. With main color
work sc in one st and dc in next st alternately around. Fasten off.
With contrasting color embroider bodice as in illustration, using
long and short, and outline stitches. Press with hot iron through
damp cloth. Sew 2 buttons at each side of front of bodice for
straps (on inside). Button straps onto buttons, then sew other
ends of straps to back, adjusting to proper length.
If desired, work casing for elastic at inside of waistband as
follows: Sl st at center of waistband, * ch 4, sl st in 4th st to the
left slightly below previous sl st, ch 4, sl st in 4th st to the left
slightly above previous sl st. Repeat from * around. Join and
fasten off.
