Stewardship Talents
Our Volunteers Are Valuable We have always known that the many parishioners who volunteer to serve in our various parish organizations and ministries are most valuable. Now we have confirmation. Based on the average hourly wage, experts currently estimate that one hour of volunteer time is worth $17.55. However, to us your volunteer time is invaluable. Through the gifts of time and talent that our parishioners so generously share we are able to truly be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ here in Saint Matthew. Many thanks to all those faithful and generous stewards who volunteer in our parish! Your time is worth everything to us!

Archbishop Donoghue Confirms 47 Members of St. Matthew Parish Family
On Tuesday, April 8th, 47 St. Matthew teens and one teen from St. Mary Magdalene received the Sacrament of Confirmation. Retired Archbishop John Donoghue, graciously substituting for Archbishop Gregory who had a conflict in his schedule. conferred the Sacrament on the largest group of Confirmation Candidates in the history of the parish in a joy-filled and heavily-attended Mass which was followed by a lively reception. Fr. Vic, Deacon Bill and Deacon Jim assisted the Archbishop as he spoke to the Candidates about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, prayed over them, asked the Holy Spirit to dwell within them in fullness, and anointed them. Our grateful thanks to the parents, the families, and to all who helped prepare the teens for the Sacrament and made the evening a truly memorable event in the life of the parish. St. Matthew Craft Guild
Thank you for your support at our first sale last month! We sold almost every item. We received encouraging words about the selection as well as our effort to help pay down the building fund debt with profits from the sale. The suggestion/comment box was full. In case you are wondering, those items that sell the best will be repeated. But we also want to keep things fresh, so you can expect to see new projects at our sale next weekend, April 26-27th (cash only). We will be selling 1/2 hr. before and after mass. Just a hint, we have been thinking of Mother's Day coming up soon..... Blessings, St. Matthew Craft Guild
