A.
The following codes and standards are intended to provide an acceptable level
of quality for materials and products. The Contractor may propose alternative
codes and standards provided they give an equivalent degree of quality as the
referenced codes and standards and are submitted for Royal Commission
review and approval in advance of their use.

SUBMITTALS
The Contractor shall submit to the Royal Commission the following items for
review and acceptance before commencing work:

PRODUCT HANDLING

Store all fixtures in an upright position, above ground and in a dry place. Trim
and accessories shall also be stored above ground in a dry place.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.1
GENERAL
A.
All goods and products covered by these specifications shall be procured, when
available, from an in-Kingdom manufacturer. Procurement of all goods and
products manufactured out-of-Kingdom must be approved by the Royal
Commission.

Ceramic ware plumbing fixtures shall be constructed of dense, durable, nonabsorbent materials and shall have smooth, impervious surfaces, of even color
and un-warped, free from unnecessary concealed fouling surfaces. All fixtures
conform in quality and design to nationally recognize applicable standards or to
other approved standards acceptable to Royal Commission.

All plumbing fixtures and fittings shall be of the water conservation type.

WATER CLOSETS:
Western Water Closet (WWC):
1.
Western water closets shall be floor mounted type, with flush tank and
elongated siphon jet water saving closets. Trim shall be chromium plated
brass.

Water Closet Seats Toilet seats shall be solid white plastic with high rise
seat hinges. Water closet seats shall be of smooth non-absorbent
material. Seats shall be sized for the water closet bowl.

Flush Tank - The flush tank for the water closet shall conform to SASO
1257 and 1477 equipped with controlling devices that automatically refill
after discharge of water. Tank capacity shall not be more than 3 liters (0.8
Gals) of water per flushing as per Table 604.4 of the IPC. The tank shall
have overflow opening above the flood level rim of the water closet or
above the secondary overflow of the flush tank. Anti siphon fill valve shall
be provided conforming to SASO 1480 and installed at least 25 mm
above the full opening of the overflow pipe.

Fixture - Eastern Water Closet shall be squat type, compact bowl, nonskid foot tread, rear inlet connection, cast iron low profile P-trap with
mechanical seal. The water closet shall conform to SASO 1258.

Each water closet shall be no more than 3 liters (0.8 Gals) of water per flushing
as required per Table 604.4 of IPC.
LAVATORIES (LAV)
LAV (Public Areas or Commercial Buildings)

Faucet - Faucets shall be chromium plated brass and shall have cold and
hot water supply, single lever type. Faucets shall conform to ASME
A112.18.1. Water consumption shall be as per Table 604.4 of IPC.
LAVH (Handicapped)
Lavatories (LAVH) shall be as (LAV1) except for its mounting height designed for
physically handicapped person conforming to the requirements as per ANSI
A117.1.
Final selection shall be done by the Royal Commission.

Faucets - Faucets shall be one piece body, non rotating rubber diaphragm
steel seal and valve, with chrome handles and chrome 200 mm tabular
gooseneck swing spout with aerator and flow restrictor. Faucets shall
conform to ASME A112.18.1 and CSA B125. Water consumption shall be
as per Table 604.4 of IPC.

Accessories

Water cooler shall be wall hung, surface mounted with stainless steel basin and
enameled cabinet. The unit shall be provided with a single stainless steel
bubbler with remote automatic stream regulator and shall have the inlet through
the wall behind cabinet. The unit shall be provided with a shut-off stop valve and
a minimum 32 mm P-trap with cleanout for through the wall discharge.

The unit shall provide a minimum of 48 liters per hour of 9C water with supply
water at 30C and room temperature of 37C.

SHOWER UNIT
Fixtures shall be built-in type, porcelain enamel steel, cast iron or fiberglass
construction. Unit shall be _800 mm__ x __800 mm__ x __150 mm__ standard
size and shall have integral shower head control with faucets. Faucets shall be
chrome plated brass with single lever, thermostatic and pressure balance control
and red and blue indicators for hot and cold water.

Floor drains shall comply with ANSI A112.6.3, ASME A112.3.1. Trench drain
shall comply with ASME A112.6.3.

Removable strainer shall be and have waterway area of not less than the area of
the tailpiece.

Open hub drains for indirect or equipment waste shall be as indicated on the

shall be provided.

Self priming floor drains shall be permitted only where indicated on the drawings
and approved in advance by the Royal Commission.

Floor drains serving water heater areas shall be of deep seal type.
PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1
INSTALLATION
A.
Set plumbing fixtures tight, level, and rigid on proper grounds. Use setting
compound under all setting surfaces.
B.
Provide required trim including supplies, loose-keyed stops, wastes, traps and
floor and wall escutcheon plates.
C.
Protect fixtures after they are set. Thoroughly clean them at the completion of
the project.
D.
Shut off valves shall be supplied for each fixture or to banks of two or
more fixtures; where required for proper system control; at entrances of
buildings and to all equipment and controls.

Caulk around all plumbing fixtures with white silicone epoxy type, non-hardening
compound, where fixtures meet floor or wall as required to present a finish
appearance. See Section 07920 on Sealants and Caulking.

Set shower receptors in a leveling bed of cement grout and lead pan.
