Cetane Boost Additive for Diesel Fuel

An ashless, alcohol-free additive that improves cetane up to seven points for increased power and performance in all diesel engines.
AMSOIL Cetane Boost Additive improves diesel fuel quality to benefit all diesel engines, especially high-performance designs. Supported by extensive testing and years of field trial use, AMSOIL Cetane Boost Additive has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to improve diesel engine performance. High-performance diesel engines operate best with cetane values of 50 or higher.

Recommended for use with all types of heavy- and light-duty, on- or off-road and marine diesel engines. Best performance is achieved when used with every new tank of fuel. Excellent for use with ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel (ULSD). Compatible with biodiesel

and all types of exhaust emission systems such as diesel particulate filters (DPFs). (Although high concentrations of biodiesel decrease the benefits of AMSOIL Cetane Boost). For best results with up to a seven point cetane increase, add one oz. of AMSOIL Cetane Boost per five gallons of diesel fuel (one bottle to 80 gallons). For up to a three point cetane increase, add one oz. per 10 gallons of diesel fuel (one bottle to 160 gallons). Excellent for use with AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate and AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver.

Increases fuel economy up to 2%. Improves the spontaneous auto-ignition point of diesel fuel, which shortens ignition lag time. Diesel fuel ignites earlier in the cycle. Controls rapid pressure rise within the cylinder. Reduces cranking time to start. Reduces white smoke, emissions and objectionable odors. Improves cold temperature starting. Reduces misfiring during warm-up and at low temperatures.

Reduces operating costs. More complete combustion for better performance, power and drivability. Quieter, smoother operation. Extends battery and starter life. Reduces environmental impact and makes diesel operation more pleasant. Better reliability and reduces maintenance costs. Saves on engine wear and tear. Helps prevent cracked pistons and rings.

DANGER: COMBUSTIBLE. HARMFUL IF SWALLOWED, INHALED OR ABSORBED THROUGH SKIN; EYE AND SKIN IRRITANT. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Read carefully precautions on label of AMSOIL Cetane Boost Additive container before use. Cold Flow Improver with Deicer for Diesel Fuel
AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver (ACF) is formulated for a broad range of diesel fuels, including #1 diesel, #2 diesel, biodiesel and ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuels. It provides superior fuel flow to help prevent fuel filter plugging in cold temperatures.

Reduced Need for #1 Diesel Fuel
One traditional solution to cold weather problems in diesel engines is the use of #1 diesel fuel, which is diesel fuel diluted with kerosene. While #1 diesel fuel has an advantage in lowtemperature operability, there are also several disadvantages. The energy content of #1 diesel fuel is about 95 percent of that of #2 diesel fuel, resulting in reduced fuel economy and less horsepower. In addition, the kerosene used in #1 diesel fuel provides less lubrication for the fuel pump and fuel distributor, increasing the likelihood for wear on these critical components. AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver minimizes the need for blending standard #2 diesel fuel with lower-quality #1 diesel fuel, helping to maintain fuel economy and keep engines functioning normally.

Concentrated ACF vs. ACF Blended with Fuel
AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver will not show any signs of solidifying until the temperature reaches -22°F (-30°C). Still, AMSOIL recommends storing Cold Flow Improver at temperatures above 0°F (-18°C). AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver will only freeze in its concentrated state, not when it is mixed with fuel. It is designed to be mixed with diesel fuel, at which point ACF dissolves and effectively improves diesel fuel cold-temperature properties. Freezing will not harm ACF and it can be used once it is thawed.

Superior Cold Filter Plugging Point Depression
As the temperature drops, the wax naturally found in diesel fuel begins to form crystals. The point at which wax crystals form is known as the cloud point. These wax crystals eventually clog the fuel filter and starve the engine of fuel, preventing it from starting. While low-quality fuels may form wax crystals in temperatures as warm as 40°F (4°C), most fuels have a cloud point near 32°F (0°C). The point at which the wax crystals clog the fuel filter is known as the cold filter plugging point (CFPP). AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver lowers the (CFPP) by as much as 34°F (19°C) in ULSD.

Application Information
AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver is specifically formulated for improving the flow of fuel, helping to maintain the integrity of fuel and preventing the clogging of filters and injectors. It is excellent for use with diesel fuels, heating oils and kerosene. Two oz. of AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver treats five gallons of fuel, or one 16 oz. bottle for 40 gallons. The clear bottles feature an easy-to-read graduation label for accurate dispensing, helping to ensure proper treat ratios.
DANGER: COMBUSTIBLE. HARMFUL OR FATAL IF SWALLOWED. HARMFUL IF INHALED OR ABSORBED THROUGH SKIN. EYE AND SKIN IRRITANT. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Read carefully precautions on label of AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver container before use. For further information, a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is available online at www.amsoil.com in the Product Information section, or by calling (715) 392-7101.

Additional Benefits
AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver uses a jet-fuel-type deicer that disperses water to control ice formation throughout the fuel system. It inhibits wax crystal formation and can improve diesel pour point by as much as 58°F (32°C), allowing fuel to flow to the engine more easily and improving diesel engine reliability in cold temperatures.
