Beside a lot of advantages, some people believe that the Internet creates many
problems. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
In the current society, it is universally believed that the internet has been gaining its popularity at
an amazing rate. Some people assert that the internet bring us a lot of benefits while many others
argue that its drawbacks should not be ignored. It is quite understandable that people from
different backgrounds put different interpretations on the same issue.
Nowadays in our world, we use the internet for our daily life and most of households have an
internet access at home. It changes almost every aspect of humans life such as communication,
education, and business in positive way. Some other people have a full time job on the internet
working at home and support the family. Thus, many advantages gaining from using the internet
but some people believe that the internet creates many problems. For me, I definitely agree with
this statement. Because internet does not create the problem, people create the problems for some
reason.
From the positive sides point of view, internet makes communication easier as now people can
communicate with families or relatives in far space from them. Second, it also brings revolution
in further education. For instance, currently there are lots of online courses with premium quality
of the material offered by some of universities such as Open University Malaysia.
Furthermore, the internet also brings goods in business as, now, do a task is more efficient with
internet than when internet was not being invented. For example, some organization just using
internet to held interview. Besides, people can send emails to staff in other countries or cities in a
few minutes while sending a traditional letter takes at least a week and costs much in the second
place, it is known fact that we can make friends with people from all parts of world.
As I mentioned earlier internet does not create the problem, people create the problems for some
reason. That why bad things also are brought by it. First of all there is all kind of information we
can either read or watch from the internet. If we search some the right info and studied hard, we
can have many degrees as we want. But some people search a wrong info and create many
problems. For instance porn is emerged as the internet is developed. It causes addiction to its

watcher and causes brain damage. The internet cant also recognize who watching the adults
move or who trying to kill people. This is the really problem.
Moreover, social media promoted by the internet is good in somewhere but it makes some people
lazy to deal with real social life because they feel unhappy with their real life. Such condition, in
my opinion is not good for their social life as they become less close in relationship with people
around such as families and friends. And then there are other problems some people addicted to
internet games, playing more than 10 hours a day. Then they ended up to the hospital.
In conclusion, for my part once again I completely agree that the internet bring us great
convenience and efficiency. Apparently, it overcomes the geographical barriers and makes the
world smaller. In other words, we can have easy and quick access to the latest information
worldwide.
2. Nowadays, many students decide to further their study abroad; what are the
benefits and drawbacks of studying abroad. To what extent do you agree or disagree
with this statement?
Nowadays, along the rapid development of economy, some students think that study abroad
brings many benefits, while others are of the opinion that they should finish university education
in their motherland. It is quite natural that people from different backgrounds may have divergent
attitudes towards it.
For this issue, I agree with the statement that many students decide to further their study abroad
because the benefit they get while study abroad and would like to establish my views on this.
There are many good reasons to study abroad. Because education is seemed third eye of
knowledge to achieve success and study area of abroad makes it possible, hence students are
motivated to choose abroad for further study.
One of the largest benefits of studying abroad involves the opportunity to broaden horizons.
Studying and living in a new country could change the way we look at things, make us more

open minded, and provide a newfound respect for people who are different from us. Also may
even gain a new perspective on things like academics, politics, social issues and daily life.
Besides, studying abroad can provide a unique experience that cannot be obtained through
traveling or touring a country. When study abroad, we naturally immerse ourselves in another
culture. This makes it easier to learn a new language and learn about cultural traditions and
beliefs from inside.
Although rules may vary from school to school, it is almost always possible to transfer the
credits we have earned through studying abroad to another education program. This is especially
true if we participate in a study abroad program that is sponsored by our business school.
Moreover, participating in a study abroad program may enhance student employment prospects.
Being part of this minority could help us stand apart from other job applicants. Study abroad
experience may also give us an edge in positions that require knowledge of another culture,
international business, foreign affairs, or a second language. Being surrounded by native
speakers affords student to the chance to immerse in the language, which can expedite retention
and fluency. Furthermore, if we travel to a country in which the primary language is one we
study in school, we can add to vocabulary colloquial words and phrases that may not appear in
the textbooks.
Besides, studying abroad removes us from the normal support network that we are accustomed to
bake home. While on the one hand, being away from friends and family can seem daunting, it is
also a chance for us to hone our skills and gain some independence.
As conclusion, it is quite understandable that people from different backgrounds put different
interpretations on the same issue. For my part, I stand on the latter opinion that while overseas
study has its drawbacks, the advantages are more obvious. It can broaden ones vision. Students
have easy access to the first-rate facilities and the latest development in science and technology.
Therefore as long as it is financially feasible, an overseas education may do a person better than
harm.

3. Problems with environmental pollution have become so serious that many countries
are trying to solve these problems. Suggest possible solutions and give your own
opinion.
Environmental pollution is the upcoming global issue in this decade. This condition is very awful
as we can see the effect of environmental problem do not occur directly, but later in the
upcoming era the effect destruction become worst. There are a lot of arguments about this global
issue and it is necessary to come up with suitable solutions in order to prevent upcoming
problems.
To begin with, there are various factors that could negatively contribute to the environment. The
one biggest pollutant is plastic. Every country has problem in recycling trash material from
plastic. As far as we know, everyday in every consume we use plastic, such as plastic bag, plastic
bottle, straw, invitation package and so on is made by plastic. In the house, public area, office,
school, recreation place every day produces plastic trash. Data from Encarta encyclopedia
estimate more than 50 tons non-biodegradable trash in the Everest.
How about if we count all of the plastic trash in the world? Can you imagine how much it that?
Indonesia itself nowadays try to make some movement to solve problem of pollution, for
example they make campaign of 3R that is reuse, reduce and recycle, making water treatment for
industrial, compost from organic trash and also regulation to pull down air pollution in the big
city.
Car emission is also the most important causes of pollution. This is due to the fact that the
emission from car exhaust releases toxins into the air. This will lead to poor air quality due to
harmful gases which will increase the likelihood of people suffering from fatal medical
conditions.
In my opinion as the solution to pollution problem comes out from individual being. Trash
production increased similar with people activities. To reduce all of the trash we should start
from ourselves, for example put the garbage in the storage, separate an organic and non organic
trash, and manage liquid waste goodly. Clean and health earth comes true while it is doing by the
all of the people. I personally think that we also should probe to devise an appropriate plan that

sets environmental protection as a priority. Government can raise awareness in the general
public. This could be done by informing every individual about this serious problem
continuously.
In order to limiting the toxins from car, expanding public transportation system and encouraging
people to use it could tackle this problem effectively. Indeed, the number of cars will be reduced
significantly when people opt for public transportation instead of their private car. Therefore,
providing such facilities could help to protect the environment.
Moreover, factories could also have huge adverse effects on environment. They affect their
natural surroundings in different aspects ranging from emitting carbon dioxide gases into the air
to contaminating water by releasing toxic chemicals into the rivers. By transmitting factories
from cities to suburbs and exercising more control relating emissions rates, government could
take important steps towards reducing negative impacts. Finally, seeking to adopt suitable
policies regarding this issue will mitigate negative consequences.

4. Global warming is one of the most serious issues that the world is facing today.
What are the causes of global warming and what measures can governments and
individuals take to tackle the issue?
Global warming is the term used to describe a gradual increase in the average temperature of the
Earths atmosphere and thereby, causing permanent climatic changes. Since 1980, it has been
observed that Earths mean atmospheric temperature has increased by 1.4 degrees F. This is
called global warming which is responsible for disrupting the natures balance by generating
continued heat waves, and sudden occurrence of storms and floods.
As we realize that it is true we are now facing the serious issues into global warming. When
talking about global warming, it has many significant causes we need to know. The various
causes for the same are the emissions which result from burning of fossil fuels and the razing of
tropical forests. These emissions are called as green house gases and are the major cause of
global warming. Industrial revolution is largely responsible for both burning of fossil fuels as

well as deforestation. Hence, it is evident that global warming has manmade causes. Various
researchers have reported that the global emissions increased by three percent in 2011 and
another 2.6 percent in 2012 which is a quite high increase.
Mining for coal and oil releases methane in the atmosphere. Methane is also one of the green
house gases in addition to water vapors, carbon dioxide, Chloral Flours Carbons and nitrous
oxides. When deforestation takes place, the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increases,
thereby, increasing the green house effect. The nitrous oxide from fertilizers, gases used for
refrigeration and industrial processes are other factors causing global warming.
Unpredictable climatic changes happen due to global warming causing droughts in one area and
floods in another. CFC which is present in our deodorants and perfumes are known to react with
the ozone layer and deplete it, thereby causing global warming.
There is no single solution to global warming, which is primarily a problem of too much heattrapping carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide in the atmosphere. But, it is very essential
that there use should banned in addition to other actions that must be taken to prevent global
warming in terms of government efforts and we as the society in country. Recycling disposable
products, planting trees, spreading awareness, using paper bags instead of plastic bags,
conserving electricity for example by using CFL lights instead of the normal bulbs are some of
the easy ways which can help to reduce global warming and its harmful impacts.
Ironically, most of successes countries are in tropical developing countries, where countries
reductions in rates of deforestation and in some cases their reforestation of cleared land have cut
their net emissions of global warming pollution. Their actions have already accomplished more
for the climate than the actions of many developed nation have.
For example, the big reduction in emissions has been in Brazil, which has cut deforestation in the
Amazon by more than 2/3 in the past 8 years. As a conclusion, both government and business
actions were important.

5. In many countries it is now illegal to smoke in public places. It is only fair that
people who wish to smoke should have to leave the building. Do you agree or
disagree?

Smoking in public places is a common issue faced by almost every country in the world. Some
countries, such as Canada, Netherland and the United Kingdom, have resulted regulations to
protect their citizens from hazard of a cigarette. As I know, if a person wants to smoke, he should
leave from a room where public stay there. Many believe that smoking not be allowed in public
and I agree with the statement and consider this action is a must then should be followed strictly
by all smokers because not only the active smokers are affected by their act but, also innocent
passive smokers who happen to inhale the smoke are also affected by it.

Smoking has so many bad effects on health. To list out it is one of the main reasons caused by a
small roll of tobacco such as heart attack, lung cancer, and skin cancer and so on. Knowing all
the ill effects of smoking, one should not let himself or herself to indulge in the act of smoking
mainly in public places such as schools, colleges, hospitals etc. If one does not have selfdiscipline to follow this, the law comes into places.

Smokers should always remember that they set a bad example to others, particularly to their
younger generation and indirectly encourage them to follow their footpath. Or else, cigarettes
compromise not only active smokers but also people who are living together with smokers
(passive smokers). According to the recent report in Britain close to 3500 people are killed each
year in road accidents and 120 000 are killed by smoking.

Furthermore, other effects of smoking are creating pollutions to the environment. Smoking
activities produce smoke that may develop the damage of facilities in a building, a classroom, or

an office room. In the smoke of a cigarette contains harmful chemicals such as nicotine, carbon
dioxide, and methanol.

Smoking also coasts governments millions of dollars because of large number of people who
need treatment in hospitals for smoking-related problems. Moreover, passive smoking is also a
major concern today. Recent research shows that non-smokers can suffer from health problems if
they spend long periods of time among people who do smoke. In the UK child whose parents are
smoke are three times as likely to starts smoking themselves.

In conclusion, it is clear that it should be made illegal to smoke in public places. This would
improve the health of thousands of people, and that is most definitely a positive development. I
think the world would be better place without cigarettes. However, the decisions of whether
smoke or not to smoke should be for individual to make. I suggest that people should not smoke
in a room or a place where there are non smokers; however they should be free to smoke
elsewhere.
