Itinerary:
March 05: Welcome to Reykjavk
Welcome to Iceland! After you have cleared customs, you will be welcomed by our representative outside the customs
area. He will transfer you to your hotel in Reykjavik. If you arrive around noon, it is possible to stop at the Blue Lagoon
before continuing to the capital. After you have checked in to your hotel and received your t ravel documents, we
would like to have an optional private information meeting during office hours. After the meeting youll have free
time in Reykjavik to explore and enjoy the northernmost capital of the world. Spend the night in Guesthouse Sunna.

March 06: Golden Circle Tour


Today you will receive your rental car (pick up at 09:00 am from your hotel) and your Iceland vacation begins for real!
Start the day by driving east towards the amazing ingvellir National Park, UNESCO World Heritage Site, rich with its
incredible natural beauty, history and where you can see how the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are
diverging. Continue to the famous Geyser geothermal fields and witness the great spouting spring, namesake of every
other spouting spring in the world. Close by youll find Gullfoss (Golden Falls), recently voted o ne of 10 most beautiful
waterfalls of the world. By Gullfoss and Geyser are popular lunch stops and for a chance to enjoy a traditional Icelandic
meal we recommend the Icelandic lamb soup. From there, make your way towards the south coast and drive through
lush farmlands, but be sure to make a stop at Keri, a volcanic crater displaying its crystal clear water. Spend the
night in Guesthouse Vatnsholt Approximate driving distance: 185 km/ 115 miles

March 07: Sensational South Coast


Its time to travel further east along the beautiful south coast. Shortly after leaving Hvolsvllur, you will reach the
wonderful Seljalandsfoss waterfall, partly covered by icy layers in wintertime. Continue to Skgar where youll find
the picture perfect Skgafoss waterfall and the Skgar Folk museum where you can see reconstructed turf houses
and ancient artifacts on display. Drive further east to the mighty Mrdalsjkull glacier and enjoy optional activities
such as glacier hiking and or snowmobiling with professional guides Continue to the charming village of
Kirkjubjarklaustur, home Icelands first monastery (built in 1186) where you will stay for the night in Guesthouse
Hunkubakkar. Approximate driving distance: 154 km/ 95 miles.

March 08: Crown jewels of Icelandic nature


After breakfast continue to Skaftafell, a part of the Vatnajkull National Park. Skaftafell is a site of immense beauty
and variations. Its a lush green oasis between a mighty glacier and vast black sand beach. In Skaftafell youll find
many different hiking routes. We recommend a light hike to Svartifoss waterfall, that features pitch black hexagonal
basalt columns and a rugged canyon. Continue east to the spectacular Jkulsrln glaci al lagoon; the crown jewel of
Icelandic nature where you can enjoy floating icebergs. After that, turn around and start driving towards Vk where
you will spend the night in Guesthouse Steig. Approximate driving distance: 315 km/ 195 miles

March 09: Rugged cliffs and volcanic beaches


Spend the day in the village of Vk in Mrdalur and walk along the Reynisfjara beach with its beautiful view of the
Reynisdrangar cliffs and the stunning Dyrhlaey Peninsula with its natur al stone arch. In the afternoon you can
experience dog sledding in the country side of Iceland. Its a unique opportunity to discover the picturesque beauty
of the Icelandic nature and the fun of dog sledding with the powerful Greenland huskies. Head back towards the
capital, drop the rental car and spend the night in the heart of Reykjavik in Guesthouse Sunna. Approximate driving
distance: 185 km/ 115 miles

March 10: A full free day in Reykjavk


Enjoy a full free day in the vibrant and lively capital city, youve earned it! Go shopping or sightseeing or simply relax
at a nice cafe or in one of many outdoor swimming pools that are to be found within the city limits. Visit some of the
major landmarks of Reykjavik, such as the Hallgrmskirkja church, Perlan dome, the Solar Voyager sculpture or Harpa
Music & Conference Center. In the evening, we recommend that you award yourself with a gourmet dinner at one
of many high quality restaurants in the city. In the later hours, explore the world famous nightlife of Reykjavik. At
22:00 you will be picked up from Hotel Sunna for your airport transfer.
