Research Analyst

Part-time, flexible hours, based at home, payment by results


12m fixed term contract
Grade and accountability: Grade three. Research Analyst post responsible to
Head of Team and Project Manager.
Purpose of post: To help EIRIS accurately and efficiently gather, analyse and
disseminate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) information on
companies. You will contribute to the work of the research team by analysing
companies in allocated sectors and/or regions to high standards of accuracy and
quality.
Summary of main responsibilities: You will analyse and assess companies
according to a research schedule, inputting data into the EIRIS system, and
assisting with client queries if required.

Company analysis and assessment [90% of the time]
You will analyse companies using company documents and other sources,
assess them against a range of EIRIS criteria and input this into relevant
databases. Research will normally cover ESG areas researched by EIRIS as
well as screening areas on other criteria if needed.
You will ensure that the profiles of these companies are accurate, up-to-date,
of high quality and professionally presented.
You will contact companies to obtain information where there are gaps in
publicly available information, and process the responses, seeking further
information or clarification as necessary.

A range of support activities or particular tasks including a range of
administrative duties
General
You will attend for two full-time weeks initial training at the London office
Thereafter you will attend meetings occasionally, in person or remotely,
and further training as required
You will be in regular communication with the project manager re work
allocation and quality and quantity of output.
You will need to communicate with office-based research analysts and
other home-based analysts about aspects of the work and respond
promptly to questions about the work you have produced

You will ensure the quality of your research is accurate, up-to-date, of high
quality and professionally presented
You will provide a limited amounts of assistance with client queries or
other promotional work for EIRIS of a general nature in relation to the
specific work you undertake

Flexibility
It is envisaged that, from time-to-time there will be a review of the time
allocation between different tasks. The percentage of time spent on particular
aspects can be expected to fluctuate to take into account evolving work
requirements and the specific requirements of clients. This job description will be
subject to change and development in response to the needs of EIRIS as a
business. It will be reviewed with you by your manager after 6 months, to ensure
it is a true reflection of what is being done, or to incorporate changes when it is
found to be inaccurate. You will be expected to participate fully in such
discussions with a view to reaching agreement on any changes felt to be
necessary. If agreement is not possible, EIRIS reserves the right to insist on
changes to your job description in line with your grade / level in the organisation,
after consultation with you.
