Quick Start
Before You Begin
Register your M-100 device at http://support.paloaltonetworks.com to obtain the latest software updates and to activate support.
Obtain an IP address for Panorama from your system administrator.
Set your computers IP address to 192.168.1.2 and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.
NOTE: This guide assumes the device has been properly rack-mounted and powered up as described in the M-100 Hardware

Reference Guide.

Performing the Initial Setup

Connect your computer to the management port (MGT) using an RJ-45 Ethernet cable (provided).
Turn your computer on.
Launch an Internet browser on your computer and enter https://192.168.1.1.
The login page of the Panorama management console will appear.
4. Type admin in both the Name and Password fields.
5. Click Login.
6. Click on the admin link in the lower portion of the management console. This is next to the Logout link and will display a
dialog for you to change the administrators password.
7. Type the old password in the Old Password field.
8. Type the new password in the New Password/Confirm New Password field and store the new password in a safe location.
9. Click OK.
10. Click Commit and select Panorama as the Type. Click OK again and then proceed to the next section.

Performing the Final Setup


Configuring the Management Interface
1. Click Panorama > Setup. Click the small gear icon (Edit) on the Management Interface Settings table.
2. Enter the new MGT interface information for accessing the enterprise management network. Click OK. Click
Commit and select Panorama as the Type and click OK.
3. Disconnect your computer from the M-100 device.
4. Connect the MGT port on the M-100 to the enterprise management network.
Verifying the Management Configuration
1. Connect your computer to the enterprise management network.
2. Open a browser and connect to https://<MGT_port_IP_Address>.
3. Log in to the web interface of the Panorama device.
Adding a Managed Device

Click Panorama > Managed Devices.


Click the Add button at the bottom of the page.
Enter the serial number of the device to be managed and click Add.
Click OK and then click Commit and select Panorama as the Type and click OK.
Log in to the devices web interface and click Device > Setup.
Click Edit on the box containing the Panorama settings.
Enter the Panorama IP address in the Panorama field and click OK.
Click Commit to make the changes active.
Return to Panorama and click Panorama > Managed Devices and verify that the device shows Connected in the Status column.
