We continue our 5-week video series from Fr. Barrons
Catholicism series, ending the Wednesday before Holy
Week, March 25th. We begin serving soup at 6:00 p.m.,
and the series will be from 6:30 thru 8:00 p.m.
Each week we get to dine on the most amazing soups ever
made by some of the best cooks in the country. Please call
Robin @ 619-922-7941 to sign up to bring a soup on one
of these weeks.

Our 9:30 choir, Spiritus, has created a CD, which is available for $20 at the rectory or directly from the choir. ALL

Annual Catholic Appeal


Thank you to all who have turned in pledges to the Annual Catholic Appeal. If you have not turned in your
pledge its not too late! A pledge envelope was mailed to
your home. If you did not receive one you may pick one
up at the back of the church.
Our assessment this year is $27,000. If we exceed our
goal, excess funds will be returned to St. Columba to be
used for much need improvements. Please make your
check payable to: Diocese of San Diego.

Easter Flowers
If you would like a lily plant placed at the Altar for
Easter in memory of or in honor of a family member or
friend, please complete the special Flower Offering
envelope in the pews and place in the offertory basket.
The suggested donation is $10.00. Donors may take
their plants home the week of April 12th.

Adoration
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be next Saturday, March 14th, 8:30 am-3:30 pm in the Daily
Chapel. There is a sign-up book if you wish to attend at a
specific time.

Pilgrimage Tour
May 1224, 2015
Join Fr. Mario Elias on a Catholic pilgrimage tour to
Eastern Europe, including visits to Prague, Medjugorje,
and the Divine Mercy Sanctuary in Krakow. Fr. Mario
will celebrate daily Mass and provide spiritual guidance.

Retirement of Msgr. Mullarkey


After celebrating 50 years in the priesthood last year and
reaching the age of 75 this April, Msgr. Patrick Mullarkey has announced his retirement as pastor of St. Catherine Labour Church effective June 30, 2015.

Lenten Speaker
Ascension Parish has engaged a wonderful speaker for a
Lenten presentation. Dr. Eugenia Constantinou, (a professor at USD in the Dept. of Theology and Religious
Studies who also has a law degree) will present a program on the trials of Jesus.
Part 1: the Jewish Trial on Tuesday, March 24th
Part 2: the Roman Trial on Thursday, March 26th
Both presentations will take place in our John Paul II
Parish hall at 7 p.m. There is no cost for this.
She will investigate the trials from a legal, historical, and
biblical point of view. These will be very interesting presentations and very timely in the week before Holy Week.
All are welcome to attend.
