1 - Introduction
Ulteo OVD is a server based computing application and desktop delivery solution. All OVD clients can run
seamlessly on the LAN or the WAN (corporate networks or through the Internet).
This document explains how to access and use the OVD environment from a user workstation provided by
University of Washington.
2 - Pre-requisites
2.1. Sun/Oracle java
OVD supports only the Sun/Java environment (OpenJDK is not supported). The user workstation must have the
32bit java environment installed.

A security warning will show up regarding the SSL certificate as this one is not signed, just accept the warning
and continue.

The OVD java check launches and checks java requirements, then on first access, the java applet is downloaded
(the applet is up to 2MB, and may take some time on slow Internet link)

A Linux Desktop is then presented to the user within the Web Browser. The desktop cannot be resized upon
login.

The OVD environment remaps any locally declared printer (physically connected or network) on the user
workstation into a universal printer driver based on PDF.
