ALPHA EPSILON PI

Alpha Epsilon Pi Nu Sigma has been pushing itself to keep the chapter going
strong all semester. Weve had countless events and have been working hard to
become an even stronger chapter than before.

RUSH:
Spring rush ended on a high note with a Pizza, Poker,
Pi event and the traditional Gold and Blue dinner.
Pizza, Poker, Pi had different potentials at the Pi house
where they could play poker for money or for fun
while socializing with the brothers and enjoying pizza
provided by the chapter.
Gold and Blue was held at the Jewish Federation on
February 5. Current master, Nathaniel Saxe, Alumnus,
Gershon Levy, and current Nu Sigma sweetheart,
Makenzie Coombs gave speeches to the guests that
attended the dinner. Three potentials and several
alumni along with many active brothers were in
attendance. The event was catered by Firehouse Subs.
A special thank you to Elan Adivi, Scott Lebrato and
Zach Abramson for making food.

ALPHA EPSILON PI
Inductions were held on
February 15 for Adam
Greenburg and Adam
Lucero. Many brothers
and alumni gathered at the
AEPi house to welcome
the new inductees into
pledgeship. The pledges
currently are in their third week of pledging and have worked hard, so far,
through their pledging. The pledge trainers have been named Michael Jacobs
and Mitch Levinson, while the pledge master is Greg Golovan.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:
Alpha Epsilon Pi, Nu Sigma chapter gave back to the community by doing
community service at Three Square Food Bank. Eleven brothers took time
out of their day to distribute food to children and the less fortunate. With the
fraternitys help they were able to provide several cans of food to hundreds of
hungry people throughout southern Nevada. Community service chairs Elan
Adivi and Alex Reininger delegated the event and resulted in a successful
turnout of brothers to represent the brand of Alpha Epsilon Pi in a positive
way.
Alpha Delta Pi holds a fundraiser every
semester at Ronald McDonald House to
get donations for less fortunate people.
Eliot Heller helped significantly with
raising funds for Alpha Delta Pi. Heller
selflessly donated his time for a great
cause. By representing Alpha Epsilon Pi
in such a great way, he has been named
the Brother of the Month for the month of
February.

ALPHA EPSILON PI
BROTHERHOOD:

Brotherhood is alive and well within the Nu Sigma chapter of Alpha Epsilon
Pi. Brother at Large, Hadrien Saperstein, took the brothers on a brotherhood
hike at Mt. Charleston. On the same day, the baseball team hosted a tailgate
which brought the brothers together
again to enjoy free food while
enjoying Americas pastime. Many
fraternities and sororities came
together to cheer on the UNLV
baseball team.

SOCIAL:

Alpha Epsilon Pi and Lambda Chi Alpha had a joint social with Delta Zeta.
Both fraternities had many brothers representing their respective chapters.
WIth this social, the ties between Alpha Epsilon Pi and Delta Zeta became
closer. Many members of the
organization became friends
and got to know each other.
The theme of the social
was Valentines Day, where
everyone wore clothes that
were pink, red or a color that
represented the holiday.

PHILANTHROPY:

Delta Zeta held their annual Turtle Tug philanthropy. Fletcher Bender
represented Alpha Epsilon Pi as Big Man. The Big Man answers trivia
questions about the history of Delta Zeta
and led a skit with a lot of dancing and
singing. Unfortunately, Alpha Epsilon
Pi did not win the philanthropy or Big
Man, but that did not bring anyones
spirits down. Lambda Chi Alpha won the
philanthropy and Sigma Alpha Mu won
Big Man.

A NOTE FROM RABBI:

JewUnity
This month we celebrate Purim as brothers we always look to our holidays
to learn about brotherhood. Purim saw a threat Hamen wanted to kill men
women and children all of us. Our sages tell us this led to an amazing level
of unity amongst them. They got together united to pray fast and revoke this
decree. Afterwards they united to celebrate the salvation and shared miracle.
Lets bring that level of unity to ourselves and try to partake and care about
each other as they did back then.
Lchaim to brotherhood. Rabbi Tzvi Bonchtain

Starting this month an anonymous brother of Alpha Epsilon Pi will be answering

questions sent to nusigadvice@gmail.com.
What are appropriate ways to talk to girls and act around them?
When talking to girls, be yourself. However, be attentive as to the subtle cues
that are inherent in interpersonal and non verbal communication. If she is laughing and
smiling, occasionally touching your arm or shoulder, she is into you. If she has her arms
crossed, is keeping distance between the two of you or otherwise seems disinterested, cut
your losses and move on. Remember: there is nothing wrong with making a new friend.
Not every girl is going to be a potential partner, and should not be treated as such.
Whats the difference between a 501c(3) and a 501c(4)?
The biggest difference between a 501c(3) and 501c(4) nonprofit organizations is
that of membership. A 501c(3) has open membership to the public, while a 501c(4) has
limited or closed membership. For example, a church or charity organization is a 501c(3)
while a union or fraternal organization is a 501c(4). This has various tax and lobbying
implications, but those can be explained in further detail by more knowledgeable people
elsewhere.
What makes a good resume?
First, what does it mean to have a good resume. A good resume will set you apart
from the competition while highlighting your skills. So what makes a good resume? Your
resume should have proper grammar and formatting while carrying an appropriate tone
for the position you want. For business and other non-creative professions, this means
black and white, with everything organized and properly documented. For creative
professions, your resume will be accompanied by a portfolio. Your resume can have
color and accentuate your skills and experience while your portfolio is a diverse sample
of your different styles of work and professional range.
