MEDIA STATEMENT
(March 18, 2015 Conception Bay South) - Scott Andrews, Member of Parliament
for Avalon Riding, is astounded at stories circulating in the media this morning
suggesting that he will not be allowed back into the Liberal Party of Canada Caucus.
Andrews stated he was assured that he would receive a copy of the executive
summary before it was discussed publicly. I have been waiting since last Friday
and I am still not privy to Cynthia Petersens Report. I have had no communication
with Liberal Party Leader Justin Trudeau, or the Liberal Party of Canada, regarding
the report.
Mr. Andrews has participated and cooperated fully with the process. He is
disappointed to learn that unscrupulous unnamed sources have chosen to
communicate through the media rather than respect the process and those affected
by it.
Mr. Andrews is waiting for a copy of the Petersen Report and communication from
the Liberal Party of Canada. He would like an opportunity to examine the document
and discuss the content with his lawyers before making any further comments.
He will issue a formal reaction and make himself available to the media to answer
questions over the next few days.
