Destined for Indescribable Joy
As the season is changing and we are about to enter into springtime, it’s a good time to decide to have a change of mindset also. I have had the privilege of meeting two precious orphans from India who stayed with me in my home. They were so joyous in their hearts, though they were without what we might consider necessities. Nem and Pretty inspired me to search my heart for the true meaning of joy. I would like to share the journey with you. Are there times when you just do not feel very enthused or joyous? Whether due to issues of attitude, family, finances, weight gain, or unhealthy relationships, any of which can hinder our joy, the Bible clearly instructs us to live a joyful life and to refuse to allow the cares of the world to steal our innate need to be joyous. God’s plan and purpose for our lives is abundant living. The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, therefore as Christians, we must learn to live in that state of jubilance. Joy is much more than just being happy. Happiness is often determined by an external state of being whereas true joy is everlasting and abundant. It is an inner feeling that is so strong that it finds expression in some external act. Biblically, we can express joy by singing, clapping, shouting, dancing, playing a musical instrument, or even through our tears. Have you experienced indescribable joy? How do we find joy? Read below for the answers!

Transformation Ultimate Joy:
from the desk of Linda Gillis
is a duty. "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice" (Phil. 4:4). The Holy Spirit here speaks of rejoicing as a personal, present and permanent duty for the people of God to carry out. The Lord has not left it to our option whether we should be glad or sad, but has made happiness an obligation. To not rejoice is a sin of omission. We profit from the Word when we learn the secret of true joy. That secret is revealed in I John 1:3-4: “…Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full." Rejoice in the Lord always. Joy is a positive attitude or pleasant emotion. God’s Word refers to many kinds of joy. There are many levels of joy evidenced as gladness, contentment and cheerfulness. The joy that we Christians should have is holy and pure. Joy rises above our circumstances and focuses on the very character of God. God’s characteristics and his acts are causes for rejoicing. Joy is one of the fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5:2223): “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” We profit from the Word when we perceive that joy

There is no other object in which we can rejoice "always." We profit from the Word when we are taught the great value of joy. Joy is to the soul what wings are to the bird, enabling us to soar above the things of earth. This is brought out plainly in Nehemiah 8:10: "The joy of the Lord is your strength”. We are to be careful to maintain our joy. "Joy in the Holy Spirit" is the product of Him dwelling in our hearts and bodies, revealing Christ to us, answering all our need for pardon and cleansing, and so setting us at peace with God; and forming Christ in us, so that He reigns in our souls, subduing us to His control.

Positive Attitude:
Joy is a positive attitude or mindset that is rooted and grounded in the Biblical foundation that you are loved, accepted and cherished by God and that He has your best interests at heart. It stems from the root word “charos” which means “rejoice”. The need to rejoice is directly related to the innate desire for an intimate relationship with a holy God. Joy is a pleasant emotion evoked by well-being, success or good fortune, or by the prospect of possessing what one desires. Therefore, to experience true biblical joy one must have confidence that the direction of his earthly existence is being one headed for eternal life.

It’s a Decision
Joy is also an act of faith--Paul stated, “Yes, and I will continue to rejoice for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance.” Faith is, therefore, a cause of joy. They are intertwined and as one grows in faith, they will also grow in joy! Apostle Paul gives us great insight into the subject of joy, a much needed commodity in our homes and churches today. Have you wondered what real joy is or how to get it? Have you experienced temporary periods of joy that are soon just fleeting memories of seasons past? We tend to look at joy through the eyes of the world…success, money, beauty, fame and, popularity. The biblical viewpoint of joy, or the path to it, is quite different. It is found in the truth of Salvation, the Love of the Father, the security of eternal life and trust in the sufficiency of a living Savior. This joy is unshakable and will express itself in a desire to be a witness for God. How can we truly experience the love of Christ and not share it?

12 Steps to Achieving Ultimate Joy
1. Choose to rejoice: take action not by feeling but by doing. Practice joy. Phil 4:4 2. Refuse to be anxious, but trust God. Phil. 4:6 3. Refuse to worry, which is simply a physical manifestation of doubt. Matt.6:25 4. Meditate on what is true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. 5. Choose kind words. Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to soul and health to the bones. Prv 16:24 6. Be just in judgments. Prv 3:33 7. Have mercy on the poor. He who despises his neighbor sins; but he who has mercy on the poor, happy is he. Prv 14:21 8. Watch your speech. A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is! Prv 15:23 9. Seek righteousness. The light of the righteous rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked will be put out. Prv 13:9 10. Be a messenger of peace. Deceit is in the mind of those who plan evil, but those who counsel peace have joy. Prv 12:20 11. Seek wisdom. She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her and happy are all who retain her. Prv 3:18 12. Expect persecution. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Matt 5:10 Isaiah 12:2-3

Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; for the Lord, Jehovah, is my strength and song; He has also become my salvation.” Therefore with joy you will draw wrath from the wells of salvation.

Divine Connections is a term often over-utilized in Christendom, but please excuse us while we rejoice in just those types of connections. God is good! Last quarter we were so blessed to connect with Tracey Mitchell Ministries It was through that connection that we were invited to join Women in Christian Media (WCM). WCM is a professional organization dedicated to connecting women working in Christian Media in purpose and vision. They provide a framework for networking, opportunities for spiritual renewal and professional enrichment, and they work toward the advancement of Christian media---and the women in it. WCM was founded by Suellen Roberts and has honorary members such as Kay Arthur, June Hunt, Joni Erickson Tada, and Janet Parshall, all of whom joined us at the annual meeting held in Nashville, in conjunction with NRB (National Religious Broadcasters.) It was through this wonderful connection that I was afforded the tremendous blessing of meeting people such as Joan Higley of TBN, Christie Legg—ilife---TVINSP, Karol Ladd---Positive Life Principles, Benita Arterberry of Daystar and Rev. Marina McLean of GlobalGlory. We want to extend a big thank you to Tracey Mitchell for her willingness to graciously invite us to participate in such wonderful organizations. Shalom: Peace to You
Shalom, (Strong’s #7965) or the word peace, signifies wholeness which includes health, wellbeing, happiness, prosperity, rest, safety, favor, and harmony as covenant blessings. This word stems from the root word shalam, which means “to be complete”. Jesus Christ, the King of Peace, came as the peace bearer to bring wholeness to His people. This is our covenant inheritance. The chastisement of peace was upon Him, therefore, through His suffering, the peace of God has been transferred to His people through the covenant.

Healing The Body: Two Miracles of a Different Kind
We are ministers who believe in the power of Jesus to heal today. Make no mistake about it! Just ask Leroy Smith. Mr. Smith, when asked what he needed from the Lord during prayer, stated “I need a new heart.” Praise God! In his desperation, he cried out to the Lord. Myself and several other prayer partners stood in faith and asked God, believing He would receive. “A new heart is just what we’ll ask for.” As we went into prayer, I could feel the compassion of Jesus was present to move on Mr. Smith’s behalf. Often in the Gospels, the Word of God says that Jesus was moved by compassion; this is a vital component in effective intercessory prayer. Weeks passed and I ran into Mr. Smith. He had gone into surgery, but to the doctor’s dismay there was nothing to “fix”. The doctor, concerned of repercussions, was extremely apologetic but had no plausible explanation. Mr. Smith, with a smile on his face and joy in his spirit said, “I can explain. The Lord healed me!” All the past symptoms are gone and Mr. Smith has the medical records to prove his divine healing. What a miraculous God we serve! Relationships are often easy to establish with those of common interests, intellect, socio-economic status, age, or ethnic background, but what about relationships with those with whom we have almost nothing in common with. Miss Ollie has a story to tell, which is quite different from what you might expect as far as miracles go. “Hey you, come over here, it’s time to pray!” Miss Ollie would shouts out as she and I join hands and hearts; her body racked with diabetes, her hands crippled with severe arthritis, and her knees swollen with excess fluid. Pain has become her norm. As we enter into prayer, the heavens open and the Lord’s presence is so strong I can hardly stand. We pray with all the fervor and zeal we can muster. Week after week, month after month, and now, year after year---no healing---no miracles. I walk away for from car with tears in my eyes and say thank you, Father, for the grace and humility I get to experience through the intense love this precious woman has in her heart for you. And that is what relationship is all about; one of God’s children reaching out and touching another, and then receiving the blessing while being one. God has the perfect plan!
