Bhakta Prahlada

Narration - Hirayakaipu the king of demons, wanted to become immortal and the absolute ruler of
the entire universe. With this desire, he entered the valley of Mandara Mountain and began
practicing a severe type of austerity.
Scene1
Hiranyakasipu pleased Lord Brahma
[Hirayakaipu is standing with his toes on the ground, keeping his arms upward and looking toward
the sky chanting mantra]
Hirayakaipu- Om Brahma Devaya Namah (7 times)
Narration- Because of Hirayakaipus severe austerities, fire came from his head, and spread
throughout the sky, upper and lower planets became extremely hot, the demigods, being disturbed,
went to see Lord Brahm.
Demigods- (Voice in the background) O Lord Brahma in order to save the entire humankind please
pacify this king of demons Hirayakaipu.
[Lord Brahma enters the stage- He sprinkles water from his kamaalu upon Hirayakaipus head.
Hirayakaipu opens his eyes and proudly looks towards Lord Brahma. Lord Brahma with one hand
raised to give blessings to Hirayakaipu]
Lord Brahma- O king of demons, I am very pleased with your austerity, you may now ask for any
boon.
[Hirayakaipu bowed down before Lord Brahm]
Hirayakaipu-Please grant me boon that I should not be killed by any living entity. Not to be killed
within or outside, not in the day or night, not in ground or sky, not to be killed by any weapon. I
should not be killed by any human being, animal or anyone else, living or non living. I should
become supreme in the entire universe.

Scene 2
Hirayakaipu tormented Prahlad
Narration- Hirayakaipu conquered everyone in the ten directions and the three worlds. He had
driven out Indra and began enjoying the life in great luxury at Indralok. All the demigods except for
Lord Viu, Lord Brahm and Lord iva came under his control and began serving him.
Hirayakaipu had four well-qualified sons, of whom the one named Prahlda was a great devotee
of Lord Krishna. From the very beginning of his childhood, Prahlda was always absorbed in the
thoughts of Ka.
[Hirayakaipu is standing in his palace at the centre of stage, Prahalad enters the stage and half
bow down with folded hands. Hirayakaipu with great affection inquired from Prahlad]
Hirayakaipu- My dear son, please tell me what you have learned from your teachers.
Prahalad- I have learned from my Spiritual master that all this material life is temporary and
therefore one should go to Vndvana and take shelter of Lord Hari.
Hirayakaipu- Hu The intelligence of my son is spoiled by my enemy Vishnu.
[aa & Amarka enters the stage
Hirayakaipu- aa & Amarka
aa & Amarka- Yes my Lord!
Hirayakaipu- Take my son to school and teach him the difference between enemys and friends.
aa & Amarka - Yes my Lord.
[aa & Amarka hold Prahalads hand and walk slowly to one side of stage and exit.
Hirayakaipu exit from the other side of the stage. Prahalad comes back to the centre of the stage
with his class mates]
Scene 3
Prahlad at School
Narration- Prahalad goes to school and due to his natural devotion to Lord Krishna he starts sharing
Krishna consciousness with his class mates.
Prahalad- O my dear sons of demons, Narayan is our eternal father, let us sing his glories.
[Chorus dance for 1 minute on Hare Krishna music]
[aa & Amarka enters the stage from one side when dance is about to finish]
aa Stop! How your intelligence has been spoiled?
Amarka- Why are you taking side of the enemy of your father?

Prahalad- Every one of us is eternal servant of God. One who thinks enemy and friends they
cannot achieve God.
aa You Prahlad you are damaging our name and fame.
Amarka- Let us teach you the path of sense enjoyment, politics, economic development.
Narration-Thus aa & Amarka chastised and threatened their disciple Prahlad and sufficiently
taught him the art of diplomacy and materialistic way of life. They became confident that Prahalad
must now have forgotten about Lord Hari. They brought him back to the demoniac king
Hirayakaipu.
[Hirayakaipu enters the stage and position to the centre of the stage with one soldier walking
behind. aa & Amarka holds Prahalads hand and bring him forward to Hirayakaipu. Prahlad
paid obeisances to his father, Hirayakaipu with his hands caress Prahalads head]
Hirayakaipu - My dear son, you have heard many things from your teachers, please repeat it to
me.
Prahalad- Hearing and chanting the holy names of the Lord is the perfection of all knowledge.
[Hirayakaipu astonishing looks at Sanda & Amarka]
Hirayakaipu Is this what you are teaching to him? O demons, take this boy away from me! He
deserves to be killed, kill him, kill him now.
[Hirayakaipu exit the stage, leaving behind aa & Amarka and soldier]
Scene 4
Hirayakaipu tormented Prahlad
Narration: Hirayakaipu tormented this exalted devotee, although Prahlda was his own
son.Various attempts were made by Hiranyakashipu to kill Prahlad.
1. Narration:Throwing heavy stones to crush him
[A soldier acts as if lifting heavy stones and throwing it on Prahalad, Prahalad chants Hare
Krishna Mahamantra with folded hands]
2. Narration:Pushing him from the top of a hill
[Soldier pushes Prahalad, Prahalad fell on the floor and with folded hands continue to chant
Hare Krishna Mahamantra]
3. Narration:Administering poison
[aa & Amarka force poison bowl into hands of Prahalad, Prahlad drinks poison and
continue to chant the holy names of the Lord]
[Hirayakaipu enters the stage followed by Holika. Hirayakaipu trembling with anger starts
shouting at Prahalad]
Hirayakaipu- Prahalad you are not killed yet, Holika burn him to ashes.
Holika OK my dear brother I will burn him into ashes
[Holika sits on the fire pyre with Prahlad in her lap. As fire grew, fire did not touch Prahalad but
burns Holika, with loud outcry Holika runs in two directions on stage and thus exit the stage while
the outcry continue on the background. Hirayakaipu continue to stay on the stage and takes
centre of the stage]
Scene 5
Appearance of Lord Nrsimhadeva
Hirayakaipu- By whose power are you fearless
Prahalad- Source of my strength is also the source of your strength, none other than Lord Hari.
Hirayakaipu- How can you dare to minimize my value, I shall cut your head from your body, let
me see if your God will come and protect you. Is he in this Pillar?
Prahalad-Yes
[Hiranyakaipu t ook up his sword and with great anger struck his sword against the pillar]
Narration - Lord Narsimhadev appeared from the Pillar and as a snake captures a mouse Lord
Nrsimhadeva captured Hiranyakaip u.
[Lord Nrsimhadeva playfully starts fighting with Hiranyakaipu and after sometime grabs
Hiranyakaipu and sits on a chair , keeps Hiranyakaipu in His lap and starts tearing Hiranyakaipu
bally, and thus kills him.]
Voice from the sky (in the background)- Hiranyakaipu , to keep the Lord Brahmas promise intact
Lord has descended with this form of half men and half lion, He is killing you in His lap which is
neither land nor sky, you are benedicted not to die neither in the night nor in the day so this is dusk
time, Lord will not kill you by any weapon, he will rip you apart by his nails only]
Lord Brahma- Laksmj, we request you to go before the Lord and pacify him.

Laksmj- I have never seen such a wonderful form of the Lord, I cannot approach Him right now.
Lord Brahma- Prahalad please pacify the Lord.
[Prahalad pays obeisances to Lord Narsimhadev. He honor the Lord by garlanding Him. With folded
hands he starts singing Narsimhadev Kavach prayers, followed by Narsimhadev Prayers in chorus.
Lord Narsimhadev becomes peaceful, smilingly caress Prahalads hairs and give blessings to all]
