DEGREES WINDOW CLEANING is well organized company which is planning to clean
windows and walls of high-rise buildings. Our main objective is to create a neat working and
living environment in our city Addis Ababa and keeping the beauty of our buildings.
2.1. GOAL OF STARTING THIS BUSINESS (OBJECTIVES)
I.

To become number one high-rise window cleaning company in our city Addis Ababa.
Within the next six months the objective of our company is to employ workers and
increasing the service to more advanced window cleaning, pressure washes, gutter
cleaning and general building cleaning. We have also a plan to open branches in other
main cities of Ethiopia after 1 year.

To substantially increase profitability. We will give priority for our customer


satisfaction with the least price possible. This will ensure a minimum of 1000,000 birr
income per-tax profit during the first year.

III.

To upgrade safety system and machineries of operation to latest technology available


and becoming the best and well known cleaning company.

2.2.HOW WILL THE BUSINESS HELP THE OWNWRES TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOAL
This type of high-rise window cleaning business is not familiar in our country. We can say it is
an ice breaking and hopefully it will be easy to penetrate in the market within very short time.
Which will give us an opportunity to be accepted, appreciated and trusted by the service we
provide for building owners. All this together will open a wide market opportunity and great
profitability.
3. BUSINESS DESCRIPTION
3.1.LOCATION
DEEGRES WINDOW CLEANING is start-up enterprise to be established as a private limited
company in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
3.2.BUSINESS OWNERSHIP

This business is founded and owned by Ato Tesfaye Fasika and Ato Temesgen as a private
limited company. The company founders Ato Tesfaye & Ato Temesgen will handle day-to-day
operation of the business and will work collaboratively to ensure the business venture is a
success.
It is estimated the start-up cost will be 120,000 birr (including legal costs, advertising and related
expenses). An additional amount of 50,000 will be required as start-up asset. The start-up costs
are to be financed in equal portions by the owners personal funds and by 50,000 one year loan.
3.3.THE INDUSTRY
This business industry is a cleaning business industry which mainly focuses on the exterior
window and wall cleaning of high-rise buildings.

SHORT TERM GOALS:

Establishing the company and joining the market in very short period of time.

optimal solution is searching for sponsorship and partners to work with.

5. OPERATIONAL PLAN
5.1.TRANSPORT: For transporting tools and equipments we need a van. For the first six
months the company will rent van from car rental Company. And our staff will use taxis
for transportation, transportation fee will be covered by the company.
5.2.CLEANIBG PROCEDURE:
Start all ways with the inside windows. When we clean those double hung
windows, the water sometimes drips on the outside and when we clean the outside
it doesnt drop on the inside.
After we complete the windows take the client on a walk trough of the job. Our
sole purpose is to take absolute sure the client is satisfied. If they think a spot was
missed, clean it immediately.

Marketing in our window cleaning business relies on the quality and name recognition of first
high-rise window cleaning for the customers. Quality service will bring customers back in time
and time again. Also, use of local radio station and the word of mouth advertising of satisfied
customers will grow our customers base. Will offer a competitive price for all services.
We start with a critical competitive edge: there are no competitors in Addis that offers exterior
cleaning of high-rise buildings.

Our main potential customers are owners of high-rise buildings. This high-rise buildings can be;
Cinemas, Governmental offices, Bank HQs, NGO offices, supermarkets, Residential buildings,
Institutional buildings, Hospitals, Factories and so many other types of buildings which needs
cleaning.

6.2.1. COMPETITORS: There are other cleaning companies in our city but they are very
few in numbers and out of them there is no competitors working on high-rise window
cleaning. Thus we can say we are the only business company on high-rise building
cleaning.

The windows are small, medium or large or a combination of them. They cant be anything
else except complexity of position and height. To get the correct count, walk around the
property (building) and count each sizes by floor. (If necessary use meter to calculate area)
ESTIMATED COST: The following prices are estimated costs, we can get accurate pricing
by calling a window cleaners and asking what they charge. The following is how the pricing
will will be depending on size of floor.
For 1st Floor windows the estimated cost range is:

15-20 birr each for small windows

20-25 birr each for medium size windows

25-30 birr each for large windows

For 2nd floor windows the estimated cost range is:

20-25 birr each for small windows

25-30 birr each for medium size windows

30-35 birr each for large windows

For 3rd floor windows the estimated cost range is:

30- 35 birr each for small windows

35-40 birr each for medium windows

For 4th floor and above floor the estimated cost range is:

Sometimes the owner wants the inside of the windows to be cleaned well. If the degree of

window cleaned for free. PEOPLE LOVE THE WORD FREE it is human
nature.

A sale in our business case is client service. It is repeating business. We will ensure the
followings are the building blocks of our marketing (sales) strategies.
6 days normal working hour service availability, working hour can be extended.
