Teacher Request Forms

It is never too early to begin planning for the next school year. As we look ahead to the 2015- 2016
school year we will begin the process of placing students in homerooms and developing class rosters.
If you would like to request your childs teacher for the upcoming school year and have a valid academic reason, please stop by the school and complete the teacher request form in the office. These
forms need to be completed by Friday, April 17th. We will do our best to honor all requests, but it is
important that we balance our classes.

Pasta for Pennies

Our students did an awesome job supporting the Pasta for Pennies fundraiser! We set a building
goal of $700.00, but exceed that by raising $872.00 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! The
top students that brought in the most money got to slime their teacher. A few more of us joined in
the fun for our building exceeding our goal. Students had a great time watching all of us being
slimed in honor of a great fundraiser! Also, a big thank you to Mrs. Dunn for organizing the Pennies
for Pasta fundraiser.
Pictured in order from the class that raised the most money: Mrs. Kieffer and Jamie Bouillon, Mrs.
Schumacker and Keaton Doane, Mrs. Nelson and Wilbur Bullock.

Perfect Attendance Contest!

Each month we are going to hold a Perfect Attendance competition

between the classrooms. This month each classroom will have to spell the word
BUNNY; earning a letter each day when they have no absences or tardies. Help your
childs classroom earn the reward by bringing them to school everyday, on time!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

A Note From Mrs. Mummert

This month in music class, classes sang the song Dr Suess, We Love You to help celebrate
the birthday of Dr. Suess. They also sang the classic song, Music & Kids to celebrate Music in our schools month.
1st graders practiced reading, writing, and performing eighth and quarter notes with various
activities and with the chant, Bee Bee Bumble Bee. They also started learning the songs ,
Spring Thing, Yellow Daffodils, Keep Your Paws Off My Carrots, Take Me Out To The
Ballgame and Go Fish for their spring program, which is on May 5 at 7:00 p.m.
2nd graders practiced reading, writing, and performing pentatonic melodies , do-re-mi-sol-la,
with various activities and with the song, Rocky Mountain.

Getting Fit with Mr. Haupert

Continuing for the rest of March, we will be finishing up Jump Rope For Heart on 3-20-15.
Envelopes can be turned in the following week until Friday 3-20-15 for those Friday classes.
Looking forward we will be starting soccer on 3-23-15. Our students will be learning different skills, dribbling, ball handling/control as well as playing mini soccer games. After soccer
we will transition into baseball skills and games.

Mr. Romighs Art Corner

Spring is finally here and the weather is starting to heat up, so is the action in the art
room. We have numerous exciting things going on. First graders completed their paper
weavings and are currently creating painted color wheels. These will be cut up to create
Eric Carle styled collages. Second graders finished some fabulous pop art projects and are
now working with symmetry to create a symmetrical design project. All of the students
participated in a study of the artist Vincent Van Gogh and have begun to work on their own
versions of his famous painting Starry Night. Just a reminder the Fine Arts Festival is
scheduled for April 26 from 1PM to 4PM in the high school cafeteria. Our Riley artwork
will be on display for all to see.
